Ok, tried to update using the torrent 19mb file - placed it in update folder, manual update and... says current build (101) is up to date. so downloaded101 -107 full installer put that in update and same again.. so i can't do fresh install and i can't update to version 107 :-( Any solutions much appreciated.
Hey tim, when I tried that, it said something along the lines of (an error message in red on grey background) "Only the rfactor installer has permission to update" .. i store rfactor in2 .... c:/programmes/rfactor 2 A friend suggested i look at the data. path file and it suggested a different cub folder - c:/user/my name/my documents/rfactor 2. When i looked there, I seemed to have duplicates? not sure what's happening. any further ideas please?
You were double clicking on the update when it said that, not the full installer. That means that two times when you installed, you installed to different paths. It seems your updates folder is not the one you were using?
it all got very confusing. i decided to uninstall build 101 as the exe updater was not working. i then realised the only 107 install available was a torrent. so i'm currently downloading it. it say's it will take 4 days! so basically i'm currently screw*ed unless there is a quicker /better way? i wonder also, if there is a way to prevent having to do this next time? thanks again tim Edit: down to 1 hour with the torrent
Torrents normally speed up a lot once they get going. The torrent will be done sooner, but the HTTP link is also up now.
