    Hi everyone,
Brand new to rf2. Played rf way way back for a few years but been out of sim racing for a long time I want to get back at it. Don’t have a hardcore system. I have been lurking trying to find out as much as I can by reading other experiences. This is very basic....but where in the world do I find any of my rfactor2 files on my PC? Trying to find out what version I have 1108 or 1109 (just purchased on Saturday via Steam) and whether I am running DX9 or DX11. I bought it through steam. So far, performance has been an awful 18FPS with everything at Low....and I can’t figure out what version I have or where the files are.

My system is old, but have a GTX 1060 6GB arriving tomorrow. Currently running a HD64501GB on an i7 2600 3.40 GHz, 12 GB RAM. I am sure hoping I see frame rate improvement by a lot with the new card.

Thanks for any insight or direction on what I am missing. Definitely can’t locate the files on my hard drive for some reason.

Thanks everyone - I will try to not be a pain and learn on my own by reading other posts first.

With your new card you should be fine.
18 fps at low graphic settings is indeed a big problem. Which is your actual GPU? The rest of your system looks quite OK.

After default install you should be in DX9 1109. Open steam library and check it under rfactor2 properties in the beta tab.

Says HD6450 1GB in the post above. Will certainly see a framerate improvement with the new one :D

Steam -> Library -> right click on rFactor2 -> Properties -> Local files -> Browse local files

Installed the GTX 1060 6gb. Wow - amazing the FPS improvement. Everything pretty much at the maximum, 35 cars on track, and 80-90 FPS. I will take it! Quite a difference vs everything running at a minimum and getting 18 FPS.
