Proud I can finally drop some progress on the BMW we had in mind for a very long time. As you know the Cayman is around for a good time, so we need more GT4's on the grid. This car comes totally free and is my second GT4 project from scratch that both me, @lemming77 and @Cosmo are bringing forward. April will make sure the physics are again spot on. Cosmo I asked for help on the sounds, have done a great collaboration before and I like a second ear on the sounds ;-) Why this car? Honestly, Last year at Spa GT4 EU Open, this car impressed me for its brutal sounds. First there was the Cayman that was the loudest car in the field, secondly the BMW's very raw sound came out between all the other cars. It really gave me thrills and we want people to experience this in game as well.. BMW M4 GT4: TECHNICAL DATA. Discord This is what I have done in two days so far. Before taking my sleep, I did a quick mirror of the side to get an idea.. More to come...
Tonight I add the roof/windows and the outside mesh should be done. Expecting a total of 13K poly for the MED mesh.
I have a love-hate relationship with BMW :-D Some models absolutely don't move the needle for me... And the ones I love, don't love me back :-D
Slowly I love it more.. The windows have been reworked to get the holes into them, also the rollcage is almost done.
While I work on the details, April is shaping the new tyre model for our GT4's to perfection in code I am no big fan of this steering, but that is what they use for the car. So here we go.
Bit back and forth, only the buttons needs to be added in game. Also it rotates perfect in game meanwhile. So that is a good step forward. Just need to map the AO baking to channel 2 asap to make the materials come even more to life. Something I became much better at.
