I have searched the forums and others have seen this issue at various points. What I am seeing is after a couple of minutes of running single player I get a black screen for about 5 seconds and then everything comes back. The sound continues but the video disappears. After I peal myself off the wall I can continue. Extremely frustrating. I have tried all the possible fixes without any luck I am running Windows 7, NVidia GTX 660, with driver version 353.62. Anyone else still seeing this.

dradecki, the only time I have that is when my comp doesn't like the video driver. It doesn't always tell you that the video drivers have failed message. Try another driver that you have had no problems with.

The last couple of years I have had at least 4 versions I can think of that have caused that for me.

I have had that too, I solved it , mine was screen refresh rate, in my particular case, My screen refresh rate is 200hz MAX, so thats what I set it at, got black sreen, and of course it always happened during braking or corners....result crashed..lol, what I did was set in game reduced screen to 150hz, problem solved, what I think was happening, as everything in game is maxed out, screen res 5085 x 2860, video card cant do max 200hz, reducing it solved problem, can still run at max screen res now, or reduce screen size down , and was able to keep max 200hz.....do you follow what I mean 5085 x 2860 200hz...black screen------5085 x 2860 150 hz.. perfect....or 4620 x 2600 200 hz worked perfect

What kind of monitor is that? 5085x2860 @ 150 Hz, and 4620x2600 @ 200 Hz - sounds amazing...

Is it a 5k screen? Do you have a model number? I've never heard of such a high refresh rate + high resolution monitor. Sounds absolutely amazing and extremely interesting.

I can't find any 5k monitor/tv capable of 200 Hz...Do you have any more info about your monitor? It's model number? A link with specifications? A website review? Anything? I can't even find 4k @ 150 Hz, let alone 5k @ 200 Hz...

hmmm.......it's not cow, it's not sheep, oh wait a minute it's............:p

Neither of those resolutions are 16:9 which is 1.777777777777777777777777778 and 5k is 5120 x 2880

    5085x2860 is 1.77797202790279etc

    4620x2600 is 1.7769230769etc

Pure Fantasy. Not surprised intel has gone quiet since considering he could have answered regarding model number straight away.

What next, "I am testing a Hitachi prototype" hehe

And what are you powering these 14.7 million pixels with lmao

Ya, the vibe felt weird when I asked about that TV/monitor. I'm intrigued to know what Intel48 is referring to (or maybe it was a mistake)...

Did you try increasing the TdrDelay?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2665946

I haven't driven enough since changing it to tell if it's helped at all with the occasional blackscreens. Tosch suggested the fix in another thread, I think I set mine to 15 but I've seen 10-30 recommended.

It seems logical that you might also help things by limiting the framerate (and setting prerendered frames to 1 in the driver) to reduce the GPU load and give it more breathing room, obviously assuming you're currently able to run above your screen refresh rate. I did that as well.

PS I too enjoyed INTEL's "I had this problem and fixed it by adjusting the FPS below my super screen no one else has heard of nor seen which is a really good screen and it's great and yeah" post. Most helpful.

PPS Adjusting the TdrDelay involves editing registry values. The instructions (if you do it manually) are quite clear but it's important to follow them carefully to avoid causing problems. Thought I should throw that in there, not everyone's done registry editing before....
