I am converting a multi-layout track so my question is what is the smartest, most efficient way to do this. In my case, the track has 12 different layouts. The good news (maybe?) is that the main track is a point to point so all the variations are combinations of top half, bottom half, full, tarmac, gravel, up and down ; thus I wonder if the best/accepted way to do it is to have one master version with full length, all objects, etc. and then just have two version for tarmac vs. gravel and then the rest are just start/stop points and direction. Do you guys agree? Anything else I should keep in mind? Many thanks in advance.

Yes; if more than two layouts use a particular object, I'd put it in the main MAS file. Stuff that is unique to one or two layouts can be put in the layout's MAS file.
There is no written rule on this; just do what you think that makes sense :) .

Makes sense. Didn't know it worked that way. Thanks. :)
