    Hi all,

    Can anyone point at the best (and hopefully up to date) guide to setting up an RF2 server.

    I have tried to follow a guide and setup a server in the past and it seemed to run, but wasn't visible on the online server list for the game.

    I used the Steamcmd tool to install content, but I am wondering if the info I had on firewall ports and protocols was out of date.

    ...I just think it might be fun to occasionally run my own server on a 2nd computer at home, that way I could set up races as I want.
    Has someone written up a thread on this previously?

    Thanks!

    G'day muz,
    Marcel's guide on steam is pretty much up to date...the only thing I change when hosting on the same network as my gaming computer is the ports ie I change the http port in the multiplayer.json file to 27013 and leave simulation port at 54297. That means you then have to open the following ports on your router;

    UDP+TCP 54297
    TCP 27013
    UDP 27014
    UDP 27015

    The server should then show up under the lan area in the game multiplayer lobby.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

    PS if you are going to host paid content then there are a couple of extra steps....check out https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/how-to-hosting-with-steamcmd-and-paid-content.57209/

    I'm so glad I found this post! I've been trying to set up server for 2 weeks now with no success. Following different methods and approaches did nothing. Always it ended up me, or my friend being not able to join server. Somehow, opening ports Goanna suggested works like a charm. My server is perfectly visible now in every browser possible, and my friend is able to download 'events' I'm creating. Big thanks Goanna :)
