Hey all, Had this problem since build 90, Intermittent short blasts of white noise/static coming from my speakers, every so often the noise comes on permanent and I have to reboot the game. Anyone else had this problem and if so Is there a fix?
Got to admit I don't think I have seen this one before, though that doesn't mean anything as I have only been around the forum a few months...is it only rF2?
Must be your hardware setup Or some other software running that's causing a conflict that causing this sound Try updating - reinstalling your chipset drivers & your sound drivers ( maybe a bios update took) Never had this problem with rf2
Help if you detail , audio chipset, speaker configuration and rF2 speaker setting. Actually I did have a few odd sounds from having the 5.1 set using optical ages ago. When I selected " windows system sound" ( click to the left of headphones) I had no issues. Then again when I tried 5.1 again it was fine. So it may just need changing the rF2 setting and try a fresh session.
Hey all Tried all the audio settings in the game menus but it still happens, Doesn't happen on any other game I run, I don't have anything running in the background either. Also since the update to 125 I don't seem to have the "All tracks & Cars" option installed? MM
When you're in the "car selection" screen, look up top for a little box that says "All cars and Tracks" click it, and there it is
It would be at the top of the screen. If is isn't, then your UI needs an update. Either you didn't install 125 yet, or didn't get the UI yet, so you need to freshly install 125 anyway.
Hey Tim Did a complete fresh install of 125 last night, deleted the rfactor2 folder from my c drive but didn't touch the rf2 folder in my docs, should I delete that folder too then do a fresh install? MM
All done, deleted both folders this time and did a fresh install. All working and so far no static noise! One more thing though...... When I replay the race It's only playing back on a single monitor and not all three monitors so it looks all squashed.... Any way to cure that? I use 3 monitors with eyefinity at res 5916x1080.
Micky The replay does the same on mine, the 3 screen resolution seems squashed down to 1 screen, Think a fix will be in a later build (I hope! )
A fresh install would be to make sure the rf2 folder is gone from program files, and the contents of the documents/rf2 folder are all deleted EXCEPT the packages folder before you reinstall, yes. I never touch the .rFactor2 folder in appdata.
