It's a 20 mins Quali/ 20 mins sprint race format with a standing start. The Alpine Cup car is an excellent free mod newly released on the Steam Workshop and it has a ton of liveries as well, which makes it the ideal tool for some close cup racing. Quali starts each Friday evening at 8PM Eastern / 1AM UK /2AM EU. Further details see below picture:
