I wonder about something. If you were to assign your favorite setup to the AI and they suddenly ran much slower laps on it as compared to the factory default, can you use that as an indicator that your favorite setup is crap?
Not really, because their physics is simplified, runs at a lower rate, and they're on a different tyre model. Overall aero/grip balance maybe, but you'd have to be confident they're making use of the available grip and speed like you would.
