I'm looking for advise on the best way to adjust individual AI drivers skill levels. For example I want to simulate a multiclass IMSA race with DPi and GT3 cars, but further break the GT3s down having a Pro Class and then an Amateur Class. What would be the best way to have a separation between the two GT3 classes? Thanks for any help.
Nice idea but with the current AI no fun at all...but ok. I have already done this and I think I still have the files (Talent for every driver and Power Reducing for AMs). If I dont have the files I could help you If you really want to do this. I still think its a good idea but again...the AI... I have just read this because after a long time I am back. I need to refresh my knowledge.
Unfortunately this can only be done through editing talent files. In the past, in the old UI there was an option to 'edit ai' and you could create additional driver/teams in the game itself. I hope this will be restored in the new UI.
So I still have the files for the GT3 Grid. All cars (more than 70) with original driver names and talent files. All liveries reworked with IMSA Weathertech number plates (I think I used some original liveries from IMSA). All with big car number on the back of the car (I think this is also in IMSA) and maybe (need to check) all cars with the same banner for the series. So its up to you now...
I don’t think I’m going to mess with the “skill” levels because as we are seeing from Daytona this weekend we have AM guys getting close to or better times than PRO guys with everyone in GT3 cars. I can still input names; numbers; team names in the Customize car page by creating a new folder. The only thing I wish is that we could create a folder to put all the created cars/drivers in. As of right now when setting up a race I have to select GT3 and it puts every car in the list then I have to go back through and BOOT AI I don’t want and Add AI that I do want. It’s a pain!
Sorry but I do not understand you. First you seem not to know the posibilities of RF2 regarding setting up a grid once for having it every time. YOU NEED NEVER EVER to boot AI again ! Second, I offered you help AND told you that I have already (just some little work for me to rebuilt it for you) what you like to achieve. Thats the way for missing opportunities and or chances, your choice.
Audere, I guess I missed understood you. Thanks for putting this together! How can I access your Grid and IMSA files? Thanks again!
So, lets do this. I need to rework those files. And I need to add those DPis. Maybe I need to rework some liveries which will take some time. But before I start I need to know some things as I have been away for a long time I do not know if there were some changes regarding the AI. Has anything changed in the last year ? Same BOP for GT3 cars ? Mercedes and Porsche still broken (they almost crash every second lap or corner) ? If so, I really recommand not using those cars. Are you aware of the problems of the AI (not overtaking and so on) ? Now I need to know how the grid should look like. How many DPis, GT3 PRO and GT3 AMs ? Should AMs be all slower than PROs or do you like to have it random ? Which tracks do you want to race on ? Standing start or flying ? When this is done I will upload everything you need.
I will do a quick one today (hopefully). Just for testing. up to 34 cars (GT3s) with original liveries used in the last years of IMSA. All the same class, so no PRO and AMs (just for this test, splitting up in PRO and AMs will be done later if tests are ok) + 10 DPis. Grids gonna be 4 x Aston Martin 10 x Audi 2 x BMW 2 x Corvette 8 x Mercedes 8 x Porsche 10 x DPis (not reworked the liveries so far) Talent file for GT3 already exists but needs to be reworked. Track for the first test will be Road America.
Wow! Where do I begin! Thanks again for your time and efforts. The 2 GT3 class talents/BOP will be the same due to the real life BOPs all being relatively equal for both classes. I do not know if S397 balanced the BOP for all their GT3s/GTEs. This is what I have so far before I realized that S397 will be releasing the Ligier JS P320 next week along with their official Daytona Road Course: 2022 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona (Replace the Acura's with DPis) DPi Class (7) Car #; Team; Driver; Car Type 01 Cadillac Racing Scott Dixon Cadillac DPi 02 Cadillac Racing Kevin Magnussen Cadillac DPi 5 JDC Miller MotorSports Tristan Vaultier Cadillac DPi 10 Konica Minolta Ricky Taylor Acura DPi 31 Whelen Engineering Racing Tristan Nunez Cadillac DPi 48 Ally Cadillac Jimmie Johnson Cadillac DPi 60 Meyer Shank Racing Helio Castroneves Acura DPi LMP2 Class (10) Car # Team Driver Car Type 8 Tower Motorsport John Farano Oreca 07 11 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports Steven Thomas Oreca 07 18 Era Motorsport Kyle Tilley Oreca 07 20 High Class Racing Dennis Andersen Oreca 07 22 United Autosports James McGuire Oreca 07 29 Racing Team Nederland Frits Van Eerd Oreca 07 52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports Ben Keating Oreca 07 68 G-Drive Racing Oliver Rasmussen Oreca 07 69 G-Drive Racing John Falb Oreca 07 81 DragonSpeed USA Eric Lux Oreca 07 LMP3 Class (9) Car # Team Driver Car Type (Replace the Ligier JS P320 with Norma M30 or just hold off until the S397 Ligier JS P320 is released?) 6 Muehlner Motorspots America Joel Miller Norma M30 7 Forty7 Motorsports Mark Kvamme Norma M30 13 AWA Lars Kern Norma M30 26 Muehlner Motorspots America Cameron Shields Norma M30 33 Sean Creech Motorsport Seb Priaulx Norma M30 36 Andretti Autosport Gabby Chaves Norma M30 38 Performance Tech Motorsports Dan Goldburg Norma M30 54 CORE Autosport Jon Bennett Norma M30 74 Riley Motorsports Felipe Fraga Norma M30 GTD Pro Class (13) Car # Team Driver Car Type (Replace Lamborghini's with McLaren 720s; BMW M4s with M6s; Lexus with Audi LMS) 2 KCMG Laurens Vanthoor Porsche 911 3 Corvette Racing Nicky Casburg Corvette C8.R 4 Corvette Racing Tommy Milner Corvette C8.R 9 Pfaff Motorsports Felipe Nasar Porsche 911 14 VasserSullivan Kyle Kirkwood Lexus RC F 15 Proton USA Dirk Mueller Mercedes-AMG 23 Heart of Racing Team Ross Gunn Aston Martin Vantage 24 BMW M Team RLL Phillipp Eng BMW M6 25 BMW M Team RLL Jesse Krohn BMW M6 62 Risi Competizione James Calado Ferrari 488 63 TR3 Racing Marco Mapelli Lamborghini Huracan 79 WeatherTech Racing Cooper MacNeil Porsche 911 97 WeatherTech Racing Daniel Juncadella Mercedes-AMG GTD Class (22) Car # Team Driver Car Type (Replace Lamborghini's with McLaren 720s; BMW M4s with M6s; Lexus with Audi LMS; Acura NSX with Bentley) 12 VasserSullivan Tounsend Bell Lexus RC F 16 Wright Motorsports Ryan hardwick Porsche 911 19 TR3 Racing Bill Sweedler Lamborghini Huracan 21 AF CORSE Simon Mann Ferrari 488 27 Heart of Racing Team Darren Turner Aston Martin Vantage 28 Alegra Motorsports Linus Lundqvist Mercedes-AMG 32 Gilber Korthoff Motorsports Mike Skeen Mercedes-AMG 34 GMG Racing Kyle Washington Porsche 911 39 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing Robert Megennis Lamborghini Huracan 42 NTE Sport Don Yount Lamborghini Huracan 44 Magnus Racing John Potter Aston Martin Vantage 47 Cetilar Racing Roberto Lacorte Ferrari 488 57 Winward Racing Russell Ward Mercedes-AMG 59 Crucial Motorsports Jon Miller McLaren 720S 64 Team TGM Ted Giovanis Porsche 911 66 Gradient Racing Marc Miller Acura NSX 70 inception racing Brendan Iribe McLaren 720S 71 T3 Motorsport North America Franck Perera Lamborghini Huracan 75 Sun Energy 1 Kenny Habul Mercedes-AMG 96 Turner Motorsport Robby Foley BMW M6 98 Northwest AMR David Pittard Aston Martin Vantage 99 Team Hard Point Katherine Legge Porsche 911
Wow... What do you mean by "This is what I have so far" ? So you already have those liveries ? The list you provided ... is this the list of the cars (liveries) you already managed to get ? What car is GTE and what GT3 ? Cause in the GTD PRO class you mentioned the Corvette C8R wich is an GTE but in the same class there is the Merc or BMW M6 which is an GT3. Building up this complete field would take 4 weeks at least. Whats your goal ? You like to run races with 60+ cars on track ? Is there a track which can handle this ? For example ... Road America can handle 40+ cars (???)...so they say...but as a matter of fact some cars can not leave the pit garage due to grafic issues (so stupid...i COULD also repair this, but enough is enough). Are you familiar with the MAS tool ?
The GTE Corvette was de-tuned to compete in the GT3 field this year. Any attempt to re-create the entire field would be better served by using re-skinned Callaway Corvette GT3 cars. The Acura could probably be done by reskinning the Mclaren 650 & Lambos could be done by re-skinning the Audi GT3.
I would like to re-create the 2022 IMSA season. I know all these cars will probably not compete in the regular season - I could be wrong though? The 61 cars listed above is the roster for this past weekends Daytona Rolex 24 Hours. I do not have liveries for all these cars, but I am trying to work on a list of liveries that are already made for S397 official cars. I did do some preliminary testing at the current Daytona Road Course that is free on the Steam Workshop. The Corvette GTEs have similar/competitive times as the GT3s.
Below are the liveries I found on RD. Some of these the Car # would need to be updated with the appropriate class or in the case of Team G-Drive the actual Car # needs to be changed. There are no GTE cars anymore in IMSA. See if you can find Corvette skins for the Callaway. They would be way overpowered for the rest of the GTD field. And wait til tomorrow, we MAY see the Bimmer GT3.
@AUY2K Where are you from ? Maybe we can have a chat via Discord ? If you are 52 years old we have the same age, so same probs maybe same dreams This project you like to realise is quite a challange regarding the liveries and so on. I do not think this is achievable. Do you want to race in this field or do you just wanna watch ? Racing the AI is not that kinda fun at the moment (and I do not think this will ever change, I have given up any kinda hope). I would like to tell you all the probs you are running into due to the lack of performance of the AI. With this big field with cars not beeing able to stay on track and so on...you need to limit your expectations by a lot. Again I like to ask you if you know about the MAS TOOL in the game ? This is the tool creating vmods. With this tool you can create your own grid which is never changing, so no more kicking AI. Also with this tool you are able to create or manage cars and the liveries, the drivers and so on. The cars/drivers you create will show up in the menu where you can choose your car. I really would like to show you how this works. This would take maybe 30 minutes and after that you would be able to do a lot of things. Here is a screenshot how it could look like:
But back to your dream. I think I will do those DPis for you to show you how it could look like. On top I will give you the ACURA ARX-05 (GIRLIE SCREAMING....WHAAAAAAT ????...) I forgot who made this car. Wasn´t me.
I am now realizing the issues with the AI. The accurate liveries is not a big of issue. I tried modifying current default skins with Gimp photo editor by just putting the WeatherTech Car # on the skin (I have created all 61 car numbers - see attached example), but I came to find out on my own It's just not importing the ALT file into Gimp you have to extract it in the rFactor 2 modding tool. I am in the process of learning how all this works. Right now I know how to "Customize" a car by Creating a Folder and then typing in the Driver Name; Team; Car #. Lets do coordinate a time to have a tutorial session. Thanks for all your help! Im in the USA central time zone. If you would please private message me to discuss details. For some reason I cannot send you a message.
