I've setup a remote dedicated server with custom (paid) content which all seems to have worked ok. Server starts ok, vehicles and tracks are setup, server starts and appears in the WAN server list as expected.

However, when I try to connect, am asked for password to join the server, once entered the following error appears:

'A non-recoverable error occurred during a database lookup'

Can anybody shed any light or point me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance!

This seems to be a DNS error, but i don't know how to relate this error with rF2.

Thanks, I've ensured the client can resolve the DNS address of the server, but not sure if you can pull any diagnostic from the server or the lobby to understand what details the server is advertising itself with?

    From the thread on Discord:

The only database I'm aware of, is related to the GET function. when ISI created rfactor2, you could join a server which linked to a database, and would automatically download the required rfcmps needed. when S397 took over, the database was killed.
You have two choices, either make sure anyone joining the server has all the rfcmp files required, or turn on automaticdownloads on the multilayer. json (not really recommended as it causes lag).

    Yes, i know this.
We use both options in our champs. But i don't understand the dns error.
We start the dedicated and the matchmaker of Steam is in charge of show the servers.
Once the client has conected to the dedicated, the rF2 know the ip (i suposse).
That's why i don't understand the dns error

    Hi -
I have just rented a dedicated server. I'm also getting the same error when I try to join the server. I have all the mods that are part of the server.
What is the problem ? any one has any idea

    Thanks
