I'm trying to convert a track to rFactor 2 but I have 2 issues. First an object that is in the SCN file and everything is not showing ingame for some reason. And secondly, when I try to record a fast path, all's fine till I cross the line and it freezes ModDev mode. Does anyone know a fix to these issues?
for those objects, check visgroups, and for fast path, create a temp scn with just basics, of track, basic terain, and some pit objects/walls, may help, and make sure you are the only one on track, NO AI's
Checked visgroups, there are none set, no difference. Not tried anything regarding the second issue yet but will do. Also the object is there as it is collidable but it isn't visible, but there is nothing that has been set in the SCN file regarding that object not being visible.
are you using 3dsim at alll, if so, check if object is rendered, if its not change it to, true, not sure if editing scn will work, but try adding line render=true for that object in scn line .....it, may work
The alpha channel is white on that texture. However I managed to sort the other issue, creating a TEMP SCN worked Still need to sort out this object not being visible though
This object is also missing in Scene Viewer as well but visible when I import the SCN file. Anyone got any suggestions?
Does the object use chroma or alpha blending transparency? If so set to replace see what you get. If the alpha chl isn't needed then you may have to remove it or remake it. Are you using 3dsimed? or max? either way post a screenshot of the object instance settings maybe post up the scn code for that object too.
http://gyazo.com/acec793314d4bce1a6378ce97a4acdfd here is the instance in 3D Simed Here is the SCN line Instance=objroaddetail03 { MeshFile=objroaddetail03.gmt CollTarget=False HATTarget=False ShadowCaster=(Static,Texture) } http://gyazo.com/c530a269af68fb6022e7ec27b474e25b This is how the DDS was saved
It's annoying I'm going back to this, but basically when I put it in the actual game the object disappears again... And I haven't changed anything on it.
As you can see, some people would like to help you, but it's almost impossible in your case and not just with this problem. In most of your "i have a problem" threads, it's like as if one would post: I have a red car that don't starts anymore. What can be the problem? There are so many possible reasons that can cause problems and we all can not know what you did, that it would be the easiest, if you pack a zip file of the complete track, as you have it in the ../ModDev/Locations folder, load it up, tell us which object has the problem and post the download link of the zip file here. Or you send the link with a PM to people who ask for it, if you don't want to post it here in the forum. I personally don't have 3DSimEd3 yet, i just have 3DSMax, so i can't load/open rf2 meshes. But many problems can be solved without the need to load/open the meshes.
I would suspect the pivot point is set to 0,0,0, as the object position is at 0.0.0 it likely is drawing there, or the pivot point is elsewhere. Have you tried resetting pivot points to the bottom of the object ? Re-export the GMT ?
