Great models- the McLaren cockpit is better than a bought one like the AMS2 1983 MP4/1 in game. Some feedback after a quick test: the steering is too light and a bit numb at centre; steering also feels as if it is too quick but could be the lack of weight. Will try again later to see if it can be dialled out via caster etc.
Without jumping through all 5 pages again, just a question: Are those cars on same physics or each one is different? There are some indication on AI settings to make them behave nice? I briefly tried them last week ... and wow, the nostalgia effect is just as strong as those cars are fast..
Thank you for the new cars! After driving them I think they could do with a higher steering ratio. It seems to have the Monaco rack or equivelent, and it is not changable in the setup. Also I'm working on some scratch built 1980's tyres which you are welcome to use once I'm done. They are slightly smaller diameter at the front, full 18"section width at the rear, and have a flatter, stiffer tread than the (yellow walled) '93 tyres.
Yes, after driving all of them and comparing back to back with the F1 86, 82, & 79 cars, the steering is over-sensitive; it's as if it's set up for a controller rather than a wheel. The stated 450 degrees should be fine, but the wheels are turning too much with limited steering movement, it's more like 200 degrees.
There looked to be a update coming to the 72' Indycars, Parnelli's Viceroy cars, Offenhauser engines, correct turbos etc., but....
I am hoping this project is still alive like the 70s Open Wheeler? Some awesome reference shots from Dallas 1984: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/276054-formula-1-dallas-grand-prix-1984/
yes thanks, but maybe a little more precise, to me the two cockpits don't look the same, it looks like one dash is round and the other is square
