G'Day, How will rF2 handle this and have they team at IS thought about the UI changes that will be required etc...? With F1 heading this way and more production cars having this feature it wont be long until the first vehicle mods arrive. Cheers mm
I think that there should not be upper limit of gears. Modder could define any amount of gears and give appropriate ratios for them. In the end, it is just very simple math.
rF2 supports up to 9 gears plus reverse, as pointed in the mapping--->driving window of Controls menu
I guess that the gear window automatically fits the amount of gears as stated in the the gears.ini. Only a guess by my side, and i have no idea if the UI need reworking of if the gear window resizes by itself, assuming my guess is correct.
@ Max - If possible matey maybe you can raise it up so it gets placed on a agenda and is looked prior to this event happening.
I had some free mins and tried by myself, in Dev Mode. I was no correct in my previous post, indeed the number of gears is settable in the hdv and the gears.ini sets only the ratios. I did set 9 forward gears in the Trainer hdv, and the result is shown in the attached shot. No idea why the garage shows only 8 gears, i will ask to ISI.
