UPDATE- https://forum.studio-397.com/index....ries-post-168-update.58920/page-9#post-988760 Hello, I'm looking for some help with a mod. Art is pretty much done, just need help with the physics side. We can probably use the ISI DW12 as a base, so it shouldn't be too hard, but what do I know. Message me if you're interested. Road course body work: Speedway body work:
Looks great! I think you should be able to use almost all of the current DW12 settings. I think pretty much only the aero will need to be changed. Suspension, chassis flex, tires, gearbox, etc should all be the same as the rF2 DW12, I think. Maybe a few changes? There was a weight change that happened a few days ago http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/146527-indycar-increases-minimum-car-weight Two questions, is this a conversion of the rF1 mod? And would you be able to apply the aero settings from that mod on top of the default DW12? I think that should be able to put you in the ball park with out too much work.
Problem being is the physics are all encrypted now, so you will need to use either an older version that was not encrypted, or use your moderator powers to gain access to those files(something normal plebs like myself don't have the opportunity to do).
Physics-wise, there's a difference in aero too, those cars have way less downforce. http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/146287-kanaan-on-2018-car-this-is-what-i-ve-been-missing
Some other bits of information from Sebastien Bourdais. Very rear ride height sensitive. But unfortunately no real numbers to plug into rF2. http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/146663-racer-video-indycar-testing-day-1-at-sebring#!Image389
Make sure the road course aerokit also has the brake ducts!! My biggest pet peeve with ISI/397's stock content indycar.
Looking forward to this mod, usually 70's vintage interest me more but these 18' Indycars look awesome, and from what I hear the drivers like them alot, glad they got away from the awful rear pods.
Hope this car has better sounds than the original one from the game, the DW12 onboards sounds more like a F1 than anything else lol
A couple take aways from the NAIAS press conference - In speedway config, the car is lower. The underwing creates 6% more downforce in speedway config (31:22) - Removal of the Bumper pods equates to about 35 pounds, and move weight distribution forward by about 1% (33:55)
I'm a huge Indycar fan so I think this will be the mod that finally makes me pump money into a new gaming PC. Quick question will it come with a decent template?
Yes, this is NOT the model Coutie is working on, instead somebody removed the bumper bods from the gen file, put the speedway wing on the road course kit, painted the car in the honda livery and called it a day.
