First, about a week or so ago, ISI announced a game based on the Grand Tour that had assistance from S397. Then, today....and I'm really shocked nobody has posted about this yet... a little item on The Twitter thingy.
Sometimes such things are not posted here at all. Sorry, but my, maybe old school, opinion is, that it should be posted in the official forum as first. Not everybody uses these shitt... 'social media' platforms, that only try to grab as much as possible data from real people.
I agree, but I accept that the problem is that we are "old school", and things changes, and we must change with them. Fortunately there are people that are more in those new media, and are kind enough to share the news with old farts like us
Generally speaking - only hardcore RF2 fans are left in these forums. That means that there is no real incentive for S397 to advertise or support much here - because basically most users here are clapping their hands no matter what happens or doesnt happen.
They've been spending their time making an arcade game for a moronic TV show instead of working on rF2.
It's almost like S397 could do that and use the money to pay employees to work on rF2. But what do I know.
Hey, what are you doing bringing logic to this crucifixion. Stop it! Now...where were we? Oh, right.......CRUCIFY the guys at S397. How dare they waste our precious time not working on our love, HOW DARE THEM!
According to Marcell they have been working on this project for 1 and half year. In this time we had plenty of updates and announcements of stuff like PBR on rF2. Also licensing the code generates $$$$ you do know this is not charity, right? You know you cant pay employees with promises and dreams, right? Forums dont bring new users, social media does when people interact it can reach someone that is not a rF2 user yet.
And now, I am broken. I hope you are happy, Will! I thought the devs did all this because they loved me, and only because they loved ME! And to think, all this time, they were doing it for money ....things will never be the same, ever ever again. ETA: Ok, I'm done shitposting for the day.
Comunity is responsible for that kind of stuff. We create hype and speculations as community, and hopefully don't produce trash and toxicity. As far it looks to me that rF2 community is intellectual enough to not slip on foolish things. AC community had "New Stuff" thread, where people always post as soon as they find anything AC related, or even go "slightly" offtopic. So no issues with news there. It used to be good spot for news, a popular thread. However it also was the most trashed thread and it should have really been called "random thread". At some point I have started to think that so many simracers are only interested in speculations, waiting for new stuff, hype, and then just try it out and start hyping about whatever next. It is obvious because of what attention hype creates, and what attention goes into actual studying, enjoying and simply discussing already released content.
