I had rear wing set to P7 (default is P9), too low for Spa that's why I had hard time taking Eau Rouge flat out with Z4. I really had to use curbs and still the car was unstable, oversteered etc. With P9 wing it was much easier (still official GT3 pack has even more grip). Anyway, now I found better way to take first of these corners and thus manage to go flat out even with P7 wing with little use of curbs. I also did some changes in suspension (lowered ride height, lowered slow bump and rebound) - maybe it also made it easier. The other concern is top speed. With wing set to P7, Z4 achieves 276km/h(with P8 it's 273) on the end of straight after Eau Rouge which seems too high.
We feel very good about our tires, all might find improved default setups when we release the mod. Regarding aero, that wing isn't exactly low but we wanted to give another pass on drag coefficients which unfortunately due to schedules, was not possible (given our pipeline and the game's development). They're still good enough though, and above all our cars have been balanced to run with each other. Redoing all would have led to many months of delay for testing - checking if the game breaks it; checking if figures are still ok; checking if B.O.P. is still ok - and there have been numerous requests for upcoming leagues. We plan to release the mod this week and will immediately move on to our next material. The 2012 GT3 mod has been an incredible learning process where we took the quality of this content very far. The models may tell their age but the driving is as good as you can get, praised by seasoned simracers and real life drivers alike. Check out this space for a brief preview video in the next couple of days!
This will be the last comment regarding certain detail nitpicks which have been discussed over the years. Yes. Much like we have had contact with engineers as well.
Great progress Apex! I always wondered why in RF2 we dont have real detailed dashboards like iracing ones, is it because the engine?
The time is here, friends. It is with great satisfaction that we announce the release of our 1.0 2012 GT3 mod! A direct download link will soon follow. You can find it in rFactor2's workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=570027793 The top post has been updated with all info. Here's a preview of night & rain racing: enjoy!!
Congratulations guys ! Thank you for all the time and effort commited to this mod. rF2 wouldn't be the same without it. I wish you the best for your future projects.
Tried the cars out last night and really enjoyed the feel and overall driving with the update. In VR there are some issues with parts missing from the cockpit view, the Mercedes for example had the bonnet visible but below that everything is missing son you can see the road. This I found a little disappointed given the time taken to update the mod and is immersion braking for VR users. Overall however a great update and performance all round is very nice. Thanks for all the hard work and looking forward to the new content.
Thank you all and please do bring up points that may need fixing. None of our members has VR but nothing regarding visible objects has been altered, however we will be collecting feedback for debugging for a potential update. We will be releasing an update at least for the Camaro, we're having a few more liveries added to it (by Gui Lite):
