I tried Kyalami with the Ferrari, did about 4 or 5 laps. Sure reminds me of the GPL days, only better. Then I went offline and loaded up the Lola T70 and gave that a whirl. I'm assuming the Lola has much more power,(although I only took out the 2nd of 4 engine upgrades).. I shaved about 5 seconds off my admittedly short Ferrari session with the Lola. I'm gonna have to try and get that Bodnar convertor so I can plug in my Logitech H pattern shifter.

Missed it, how was it? Anyone drive the Ferrari? Fun? I see it's up again for next week at Brianza with Banking! ? ? ?

 

Yep, was fun....Was in the little ol' sparky for 6th. Everyone drove the winged Eve but not this week...haha
Love the combined road/oval circuit....and lovin' the BT20 around here....

This week is at Brianza 10K.

The Brabhams are the fastest (easiest) car to drive.
Ferrari and McLaren just don't have the top end.
They are also, less stable in the banking. That being said, the McLarens handle the Road Course end of it very well.

Usual fun race this week. BT20 is a blast. Finally stayed out of trouble and scored a podium, woohoo.....Back to my little old Sparky F3 this week. Might be competitive around this tiny track....
Glad I decided to give the Fanatics a try, great bunch of racers. Nothing but fun. Anyone likes the Historics I recommend coming for a run with us.

Going back to the F3s and running at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Sunday I loaded a vMOD with an older version of Brands Hatch Indy.
I realized I had this DX11 version on the server.

So, there is a new vMOD made and loaded to reflect using this newer version.

I'm also on the server virtually every night of the week for an hour or so.

Anyone reading this thread that has not tried out this weekly fun race, please join this great group of welcoming guys.
These "historic" cars are very similar to the formula ford/vee/1600/skip barber type of racing.
Fun open wheel racing that is very accessible to newcomers, but also a great car to refine racecraft and car control for all levels of skill.

 

Bummer that Bryan couldn't be there. Suspect he had connection issues. Eventful but fun race. Chris escaped the carnage and won easy. Got my best start ever and still ended up last at turn 1.... Got to come back here again in these...

 

I was wrong. Bryan had a worse issue. The dreaded HDD failure. The thing I fear most....lol

Thanks... Logged onto to TS and computer shut down.

Tried rebooting, kept getting "SMART Drive" errors.

Anyways, all back up and running... and running better! Nothing like a fresh install.

This week is at Texas Motor Speedway. Had a hard time deciding on which layout to run.
