Simple Q Is there a fix for the almost unnoticeable brake lights in rF2 ? Haven't found any solution yet !
Depends on a car you use. Newer ones are a bit better at this. Provide more info and maybe we could help you out.
you got a screenshot? Have you got HDR switched on? What cars and track combos have you noticed this on?
I've noticed the Civics tend to have Pale Brake Lights, but then I am racing in the daytime in these so I'm, not overly fussed!
Sometimes you can't! It depends on the angle of the Sun (even at Noon in some countries!), some times I struggle to see Brake & Indicators and I have 20/20 Vision
This was a problem in the rF1 days, too. There are tradeoffs to making it brighter, like the glow will be misaligned when you're closer to the braking car. On the other hand, drive against open wheel cars and you'll learn to do without brakelights. Brakelights are a crutch that we've leaned on for a long time!

Hi, Could you provide screen captures ? (F12 key) The big problem is that it's car specific, so you will have to ask to all the modders concerned, if it's really ruining your driving.
I agree with the OP. At daytime the difference between tail light and brake light is almost not existent. It's even worse when tail and brake-light are at the same position by design. It's a shader thing in my opinion. Most cars use the standard T1 shader with white emissive RGB and that's just to weak with the new tonemapper. Best solution in my opinion is to use high lum sun shader and control the intensity of the light with the alpha channel.
The shader list in rF2 wiki is empty. I'm sure it will be filled in the future, but atm it's all trial and error. The best practice for now is to look at available mods and when you find something you like, extract it and check out how it's done (gJED, 3dSimEd). Yesterday I watched a pcars video to figure out how to make the tail lights for a Merc. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/18073-Apex-Modding-GT3-mod?p=398373&viewfull=1#post398373
A library of these things would be awesome. There are some mods that I look at the rubber and think it looks top notch!
IMO That is the downside with rF2 ! To make rF2 work as a full fledged Sim you HAVE to use 3rd party mods. There is a reason why I boot up "unnamed Sim" more often and you all know the reason why Don't get me wrong I really like rF2 but it has some major drawbacks that IMO shouldn't be present after a public release that get called version 2. If it were called version 1.8 it would be a whole other matter. Some die hard rF2 fans are going to hate me for saying this but there is an analogy even they should understand: If you go out and buy a car you expect it to have everything in place like wheels, brake pedal, steering wheel etc etc to make it a workable car in all aspects. That is why they call it a car ! Why not call it modFactor
