Realised I'd originally posted this in the "Hosting" section which was the wrong place but now I'm posting it in the right place. I'm having an issue with mod manager for Build 860. I installed it normally but when I try to start it, the screen goes back and it shows the desktop. It says it's running but I click on it and it shows the desktop again. Anyone know the issue?

Do you start it directly or by using the Launcher?

And how long did you wait before you manually stopped the process or did it stop itself/automatically without showing the normal window?

Try moving all your files out of your package folder and see if mod manager loads.

Or simply wait longer, sometimes you just need patience ;).
Especially when you have some more mods/components in the packages-folder, it may need up to some minutes until the normal window appears.

I had the same thing happen on my server. I would get an error message saying that Mod Manager crashed and do I want to tell Microsoft about it and close the program or just close the program.

If that's what's happening to you... or something similar, you may need to do what I had to do to correct the problem.

    1) Uninstall rFactor2.

    2) Run regedit.exe and search and delete anything to do with rFactor2.

    3) Re-install rFactor2.

    4) Have a nice day.

Those are the steps I had to take to get Mod Manager to work on the F3 Fanatics' server. That was after trying everything else I could think of for a couple hours... LOL!

    Good luck!

This is why I divided Packages into specific groups 3 years ago.

Keeps archives smaller, easy to browse and locate files , faster to load.

Sorry for necro, but this page comes up high in search results.

Just had this happen while trying to join a server with too many tracks. The mod 'installed' but was corrupt or bugged and you receive no warning if that is the case. It just looks like it installed fine and even says installed in mod manager.
So deleting this one problematic mod solved the issue of mod manager not loading.
