We use a tool called WheelCheck.exe

We can't measure the force directly (unless you have a handy fish scale) but we can measure how far the wheel has rotated per unit step input of 100% force at different overall ffb strength levels. We then take a ratio of the rotation amounts as a measure of relative force difference between different overall ffb strength settings. But this cannot be used to compare the relative force output of different wheel types (e.g. between g25, csr-elite, caw, t500, etc) because the true force output is not determined by how much the wheel rotates but by how much force is actually applied to the users hand at the wheel rim. So if you used wheelcheck.exe to compare the how much two different wheels rotated per the same amount of force, it would not mean they are they both produce the same force/torque output.

I am trying to get the plugin to work so I can calibrate my wheel properly. Is this the correct path for placement of TechAide's plugin? C:\Users\Randy\Documents\rFactor2\Support\Tools\Plugins

No, it's ":\.....\rFactor2\Plugins" folder (your rfactor2 installation directory).

Thank you DrR. I just downloaded, dropped in the Plugins folder, and started testing. This elegant plugin combined with your careful instruction should qualify as a sticky. My almost new G27 has never functioned better, and rFactor 2 has never performed better. Thank you so much for your excellent work.

I'm very happy to hear that Randy! ;)

I don't think it will get stickied though.

It is a bit of a mouthful to read and with time these could be implemented into the game in such a way as not to need such a thread describing how to go about finding the right settings. I can think of a few ways to go about that perhaps.

Ok, got the software, but what dropbox option to activate and what value to check?
Do you have a procedure to follow to make the measure (with screens if you can)? It's a factory the software :)

Lately I haven't had "good" steering feel in rF2. In iR, Assetto, GSC and of course old rF I can get same quite good feel with my CSW but in rF2 there's something wrong.
I don't like how ffb feels or how cars react(they turn somehow oddly). Have to say that I've drove rF2 only few times in last 3-5 months or so.

Maybe you have the same problem as this guy:

    http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/19306-Steering-problems-and-awkward-FFB-feel

My solution is in post #6 in there...there are other advices too.

Those are some odd looking results there. Can you also do it for some lower and higher values too please.

I have the same results. As i mentioned before, data from 900 degrees and 360 degress is far different. Try 98% too. For me it produces maximum output force, even stronger than 100% and above
