hey guys, as it says in the title, when i want to launch rf2 i get a runtime error, saying that "this application has requested Runtime to terminate in an unusual way" - what to do??
now i uninstalled everything again, deleted also the folder in documents/etc and reinstalled the lite installer, tried to start just that but i dont even get into pre-game-menu. i get the same errormessage pls helpZ
Have you tried restarting? It sounds like more of a Windows problem than an rF2 problem. The runtimes are your problem. If restarting doesn't work, try reinstalling rf2 after you restart.
thing is, i dont have this kind of problem with any other game i now deinstalled rf2 and will now restart the pc and install again edit: ok, does not work either clueless.
Do those other games use the same libraries? If you're using Windows XP, Microsoft released a hotfix for this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884538
i dont know what a "library" in this context means. i have win 7 64bit i now try to dl the content-installer and try this one.
From what I can find out on Google, it's an aborted start of the runtime (which is a piece of software that we use, which isn't ours). It can also be if it is accessing memory which isn't valid. Do you have any problems with your RAM? Ever get any crashes in other software?
i got myself a few days ago a new mainboard and a new processor together with 16gb ddr3 ram, other components were the same (also win 7 was the same, in only installed mainboard drivers) - strange thing is that on my old mainboard the usb-places for mouse and keyboard stopped to work after i popped in the new ram (which i bought before the other stuff) so it could be that it is the problem that win 7 somehow is set to the old mainboard? it is funny that also the new usb-places for mouse and keyboard dont work on the new one also, but i have more on this one, so i popped them on the slots below... not sure if you understand maybe i ****ed up some parts in win 7 when i popped in the new ram on the old board. but still: all other games work properly now.
I'm not sure changing motherboard and RAM is as easy as that... I think you need to reinstall Windows for your PC to be fully functional. Glad I found RAM in that google search, it seems Windows still is trying to do something with the old system. Games could function fine, it depends what they use and how they use it. You could be very lucky with lots of other games. But any that tries to use the RAM in an area it is, will probably fail.
Hi, I installed rFactor2 again. I installed build 300 : rFactor2_ContentBuild_300.exe Then downloaded/installed all the offcial packages. When I go to manager, it see the packages but no mod. When I try to run "Simulate" it crashes. I activated/restarted. Few month ago it was working. All the other game I have are working ( rFactor1 or Assetto corsa for example ). View attachment 9778 I need help. Thanks. Seb
I'm also having microsoft visual c++ library runtime errors running build 300. I recently updated drivers for my nvidia gtx460 card. never had any issues before. I just installed/uninstalled graphics card driver, visual runtimes, etc. I'm still in trial and error mode. I hope I get this running again without a full system re-install View attachment 9781 View attachment 9782 EDIT: complete system reinstall - rf2 works again
Bump, RF2 still not working, what can I do ? try? any help would be nice, even an answer to be sure some ISI guy is aware of this !
I reported it, but I'm wondering if you've had any major system updates? Did Windows Update install anything?
Pretty annoying when a full uninstall leaves so much stuff behind that is alters how programs run. Glad you got it sorted by reinstalling Windows.
Of course windows is always been updated for this and this, since last time I play rF2. Thing is, all other games are working. You didn't answer about the mods? Is it normal that I don't see any mod in the ModManager? Maybe it's just that? it misses files somewhere in the archives in the download page. No way I re-install windows. Cheers, Seb
Most people who say they don't see mods, don't have the right thing checked or selected. If you truly don't, then perhaps indeed your rF2 install has an issue with it's paths. Have you ever installed somewhere different to where you do now? Altered your paths in the launcher or bottom right of mod manager?
Hey Tim, Finnaly got time to answer, sorry for the delay. Here some screenshots that will talk better than me When I Click manage mods, I get there. If i uncheck components; to show only mods, no mod is shown. Here what I have in my HD And Here the file I downloaded So do my installation is OK? I installed from scratch, I uninstall previous RF2 and deleted rF2 dirs. Cheers, Seb
