The Godfather of all Sims GPL reigned unchallenged and almost single handedly set the standard that we all now enjoy. The infamous RANK was a vital part of the challenge as it gave hotlappers and non network racers a level to which they could aspire. I think a rank based on 4-5 cars and suitable tracks which give a standard 20 benchmarks and therefore a rank would help to consolidate rF2 as the next standard. 2 GTs on GT tracks A megane The Masters on 3-4 tracks F-Renault on 2 Tracks and The Brabham on 3 tracks Gives 12 distinct challenges with official content. Once the release is set in stone then the best beta (averaged top with weighting and mediun) times are the zero times. Discuss... B
+1 But F3 F2 F1 .........modern dominates 75% No reason not to start doing the same as GPLRank. Simple rank would be combined time at all ISI tracks with any car Car Rank, same car at all ISI tracks Monster Rank all ISI cars and tracks etc, etc Go one set further then GPLRank. Have a weekly/fortnightly updated torrent with all the Rank setups and replays included, all pathed to folders.
Why do I continually get the impression that you spend more time playing with your PC or other body parts, than actually doing laps? Anyway, I'd love Tim to put on his not inconsiderable thinking cap and see what he does. Lets get back to an all in collective rank. Once it has been established it's locked and solid. You do the times on the config and you're ranked. We have a great chance now before it goes golden master to set these parameters. B
Reply not needed. I'd be surprised if you didn't look like your avatar in real life. I'm off to do some laps or some work on my Real Race Car. Bye for now.
You posted your impression, to which he responded, then you tried to make an offensive comment? Please don't..... Thanks.
Don't tolerate idiots or suffer fools. In a viable retort... His response is mathematically unviable. It would mean 15 ranks on 10+ tracks NOT a rank. The total should be 12 Tracks ideally. With one definitive car class. Composites will be formed obviously from the myriad of other options. I'm leaving this alone and just saying, a well set up rank with definitive goals will help consolidate. As well as a solid product that works on most +grade gear. It's so hungry and hard to tune ATM.
I wanted to read this thread because I think having a system for ranking racers based on experience is a good idea but sadly I have to read someone insulting other members. Please, let's keep this forum for discussing ideas for rF2.
I really like what IsR are using for their servers... http://internationalsimracing.liveracers.info/Drivers You can delve into each server results and for each track see who's set the fastest lap times in descending order, with details such as sector times, highest speed, consistency rating, etc....and a points systems.
SR4L use one too...its fun..check - you might be on there....http://broadcast.simracers4life.com/LiveTiming.aspx -you can find him on his server most nights, days or whenever actually- yes you guessed it - 'doing laps' I saw Bubbles on stage here with Rush last month...nobody looks like Bubbles....you might say- 'hey that guy looks like Bubbles'...but really - he doesn't- Bubbles is one of a kind
Tim - please address this childish mindless drivel. We do not need MORE people throwing unnecessary random abuse while attempting to shore it up by sucking up to you. EDIT: Brycevr - If you really do like 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' - as hinted by your sig - how about also trying to practice what is in the actual book in your real life - Instead of just referencing it? In a sig? EDIT EDIT: It appears this was addressed. Thank you.
