Here it is.... AMD Catalyst 13.8 Beta: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/amd_catalyst_13_8_beta_%2813_200_july_23%29_download.html
Not yet mate, not going to get a chance to install these drivers until tomorrow. I'm running a 7950 overclocked as per my sig.
It seems this is the one that is expected to fix crossfire anyone try it yet with CF? Results? FPS improvement? Can't wait to try it but will have to be tomorrow :-(
From what I've read on a couple of forums, initial reactions to this Crossfire fix are very positive.
As I understand it the main point of these beta drivers is the addressing of the stutter issue in xfire. Seems this 1st phase release only supports single screen up to 2560x1600 and only DX10+11 for the moment, DX9 and multi screen support should be later this month. As far as rF2 is concerned it's just the latest beta driver which may or may not be an improvement on the previous drivers.
As said above, the current driver is the phase 1, only for 1 display, DX10-11 games. So we will have to wait for phase 2, with Eyefinity and DX9 support, probably this month too.
6000 series is obsolete from driver point of view. It was just a 5000 architecture optimization , so AMD driver department has pretty quick reached the card maximum ability. This all new drivers back from 1,5 year on, has almost non or very little(probably some bug fixes) performance effect on 6000 series. In other side, 7000 series users, have some performance problem on the beginning(driver related), but was(are) in the same time very lucky users(the users who buy 7000 series in first wave). Have the card that is after a 1,5 year still in mainstream focus. And developer still can find some juice in. Economic situation has something to do with this of course, but still...i am not sad 6000 series user(actualy in my case is quite stable card), i am happy for all you that can once buy something, that is not obsolete in one year, even if is economic guilt. p.s: I will not install new driver, because i know it will do nothing for my card.
13.8 beta was utterly useless drivers with any ISI engine sims. Dropped 20 fps at least for me with the exact same settings as before. Running a 7970. Reverting back to 13.6 beta 2
nothing noticeable on my end either, but you wouldn't find any improvements with DX9 titles as mentioned earlier
I "feel" that these new 13.8 drivers have given me a boost for the MINIMUM fps, maybe 5fps more when things get hectic, and the fps drops. I have a single Sapphire 7850 OC
New beta drivers up. 13.10 http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst13-10WINBetaDriver.aspx
