ANNOUNCEMENT: Mid-Ohio LMP test race (19 May, 11 AM EDT)

Is it mandatory to to take part this race, if you want to drive the 6 hours race? My team mate and I have played the last race but unfortunately we havn't finish.


The problem is: in Germany is at this day, the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring and I will be there local to see the race.


Is it possible to complain to the race but still qualify for the 6h race?

Update.

The tire wear problem is causing fits. The wear rate in the .tdc file is not responding to input. On the positive side, the Pesca P1 looks much better externally and in-cockpit (a WIP image is below). The physics are much better. Alex and Pumbaa have made good progress.

Chronologically, this LMP test comes next, then the consolidated LMP and GT cars package test, then the Mid-Ohio 6 hour race, and then the SCES series.

We're going to push back this test back to get the Pesca where it needs to be, so that will push the other events back. Hopefully ISI will have good things coming for the tires real soon. For whatever reason, the re-released GTR has a locked mas file so there is a limit to the exploratory work that can be done on it.

Sorry everyone for the miscue date. We would never have set next Sunday as the date if we didn't think we'd be ready. But better to cancel next Sunday's 1 hour before it gets any later.

A new announcement with "for real" dates will be forthcoming, and hopefully real soon.

 

Suggestion - Can you conduct the test with the same mod to the last race?

We could be in the previous race. The hours of this allows our presence on the 19th.

Yes.

The sequence of events are:
LMP test race at Mid-Ohio
Combined LMP + GT test race at Mid-Ohio
Combined LMP + GT 6 Hours of Mid-Ohio
SCES Series

All are on hold until ISI can provide a tire or tire editing that allows for endurance racing. The tire model in Build 198 [seems to be] harsher to wear than previous Builds. At least that is what I understand from the guys in our group who are trying to provide the tires for LMP and GT endurance racing.

Hopefully that is much sooner than later.

 

6 Hours of Mid-Ohio will be June 9th. This was originally a race for the ISI rF2 community and I would like to keep to that date. We will have cars for the event, even if it is the F430 and the Pescarolo as it is. The final car selection will be announced and released no later than June 2nd.

 

Well there is no reason to rush it. "No later than June 2nd" means, if it really takes until then, we have one week to get used to the car and get setups dialed in. I dont know the state of either the LMP or the GT Car, what i guess is that none of them is ready so far, since waiting for the new build and tire problems. And its 3,5 Weeks to the main event from now.

Im very commited to my job and have a family also, so i would hardly get any hours on the car if we had one week to prepare. I know it is supposed to be a fun race but i really dont want to turn up at race day with no real practice and ruin it for anyone else.

I wouldn't mind if we had two weeks for preparation, maybe you could consider June 16th?
