I see the logic of waiting for the ISI reynard, and it is your hard work going into this so you are free to do what you want, but I personally hope that you push on with the release without ISI because, you know, we are still waiting on that camaro and a few other cars that were announced for a good while now...the 'some time later this year' tagged on by ISI to the Indy mod could mean December.
I am pushing ahead. The bulk of the tasks went fairly quickly, it's the little issues that bleed so much time.
Thanks for the update. And while little things take a lot of time, they may also be responsible for final impression, so they're worth the effort... and the wait
ISI is going to make 1 car from this era, whereas the iDT mod is every CART car from 94-95. I think this mod will be a great compliment to the upcoming Indycar content and will not conflict at all. I assume that the Indy content from ISI will spark track modders to release tracks used by CART at that time which will make this mod that much better. One thing I hope is included with this mod [that the Race 07 CART 94-95 mod is missing], is a Penske with that crazy loophole Merc 500I engine pumping out ~1000 HP. It'd have to be a class of its own or it would completely unbalance the mod (like it did the series!) and I'm sure that's why MAK-Corp left it out in favor of the better balanced Merc engine the mod has currently (I assume it's the IC108).
maybe you can push the isi guys a little bit to release the 1995 indycar first so that you guys can come up with your mod faster
We're kind of in a holding pattern. I suggested we hold off till ISI's Reynard '95 is released so that we could piggyback the tire data, but that's up to Doug.
I'm also waiting for this mod, but it was mentioned before you want to wait for Reynard from ISI, which I believe is reasonable move. In the meantime, I hope you can use some extra time to polish other things up. If you need any advice on graphics, I'd be more than happy to help.
Building tires is not a trivial task. To build tires, test them and get them right is something that would best to wait for ISI to do unless you know someone who does tires.
That's exactly what I'm doing. Bringing out a mod for rf2 without the proper tire model does a disservice to the mod.
Hi iDTDoug, maybe you can help me, did you know how contact Mike Peters, PAQUITO or any from rf Open Wheel Project, responsible for the rF1 Indy 2008 mod? i want convert it and want to ask persmision, thanks.
