I got the same thing and, for whatever reason, after going into multiplayer and then trying offline then it worked. Go figure.
I was feeling good for 30 seconds but NO it still dont work, still says rfactor2 has stopped working. I think this is more Pre BETA than BETA seriously. David
Blaming the game for a crash is illogical, since others here never have said problem. It has never crashed for me. Not once - before or after update. There are many places to look when it comes to such behaviour.
i had exactly the same problem after updating to build 118, what i did: * first deleted PLR file * Automatic Update from the launcher (everything was ok, no problem reported) * started single player -> crash (rfactor2 has stopped working message) * renamed plugin dlls installed be me so they dont get loaded * started single player -> crash (rfactor2 has stopped working message) * started online race. no problem, online server list showed up. * started single player -> crash (rfactor2 has stopped working message) * started online race. no problem, online server list showed up. but now entered to a server. * started single player -> no crash anymore thx Kknorpp001 for the hint!
For the plugin's I would move them to a folder on the desktop or root of the drive rather than just renaming them to make sure that the game has no possible way of trying to load them. It isn't that tough to do and they don't take up much room.
Something sounds strange here. It works for half an hour then doesn't work. He might have other issues on his computer. I got the "rfactor2 has stopped working" error when I updated so I did a fresh install and that did the trick for me.
Fresh install generally takes care of most issues... and when all else fails... Format C: And for those who hate the day long procedure of formatting, installing drivers, programs etc.. Drive Image/Ghost/Acronis or any other half dozen image programs will have you from zero to back where you need to be in 20 minutes.
I get this message when leaving computer with rfactor2 running a while, sometimes. Both me and my brother get this message at the same time after LAN-races, sometimes. I think it happened since latest build.
My rF2 also crashes from time to time with this message. I just was online in qualy, eating something while in the setupsheet, when suddenly rF2 crashed. Seems new to me in this build.
Build notes said that plugin architecture was changed. First thing would be to ask if you have plugins, and disable those.
Tim All I have is the standard install and from here build 108 just reinstalled everything again this morning loaded 60,s went to go into race and it froze restarted computer abd it says the same thing. DC Jr The son of a Brit in the USA

Funny thing for my install. Updated today (like always) and made copy of my player.plr. Deleted player file, so that RF2 could generate a new one. After that I started RF2 and got "rfactor2 stopped...." Checked for the new player file - was generated and seemed ok, but RF2 did not start any more. So I put back in my "old" player.plr file and RF2 started again. Tried that few more times but RF2 never started with a newly generated player file. So how can I get a new player file generated? Installed to 2 different folders for core and packages and not on C: drive - so nothing under User\Documents folder.
Hazi, i deleted my PLR file and too got a "stopped working.." message after update and starting single player mode. multiplayer did work, and after entering a server in multiplayer, single player worked too. is it possible that single player is having problems generating new PLR files?
I have same problem with "stopped working" but when remove TrackMap Plugin everything work fine... Any solution for TrackMap plugin? THX
