MaxScript KML import (Paths & images) Hi all I create a script to import KML files from GoogleEarth paths to 3ds MAX splines Install to <MAX folder>Scripts\Startup\importKML In max go MAXscript -> utilities How to use: Select KML in [...] button Select track zone number only Hemisphere is North always, south no work. but i think works to south Press [Import KML File] and KML load and center to origin. After first import Track center appears Copy/paste the X,Y,Z and save it for others KML for same track! v1.3 - Can chose Close Spline - Vertex Type and Segment type V1.2 - Now import KML from GoogleEarth and 3d route Builder - Can chose to close spline V1.1 Import images (kml) from SASPlanet. In SASPlanet when save stick images can save kml file with same name. The script try to load images with same name (DDS, TGA and PNG) good imports. The script was renamed to Import GEO
I was just trying to test this to check what the results would be like and I get some errors on import. View attachment 802
Yeah Rat, you'll have to get Jeff doing this now since he loves working with elevations already made..lol, oh and get back to work.
LOL, just wait til someone releases a decent off road mod. Might take him 6 months to learn the process but I bet he'd be releasing tracks weekly. Sure thing, glad I have GE installed on my work laptop.
Cant seem to get it to work. Here is the error I get. The file is saved directly from GE. --------------------------- MAXScript Rollout Handler Exception --------------------------- -- Unknown property: "InnerXml" in undefined --------------------------- OK ---------------------------
thats the same... error I got. and I think it is a bug in the script that needs fixing... do you have more than one path in your kml? I did and that was the only thing i could think of.
Thanks Mario, i'll test soon as i can. Is a good news for a friend of mine, but not for me lol. (he bumps me to model some km of some roads near him, hillclimbs near Genova). And what about all those gps antennas, we have inside the phones. We can squeeze them to store coordinates if we can move to a track or even a normal road, used maybe, in hillclimbs. I don't know if Racechrono, a cheap telemetry applet for symbian, stores the coordinates. Polling rate is usually 1hz, factory i mean. Someone use a custom antenna for a better precision of the telemetry, 10hz i think. We can use them and create spline from those datas but i'm not inside this trackday stuff. What do you think? Cheers. el
Thanks.. is a bug in script v1.1, 3D Route Builder have two <Placemark> and GE have one. The script need to find the right Placemark for 3D Route Builder more XML handle. new version soon..
