Hi guys took me a while but getting decent rates now with my nVidia card.. Heres what i did.. Open you nVidia Control Panel.. see Photos below.. self explanatory. By f1lover22 at 2012-01-11 By f1lover22 at 2012-01-11 By f1lover22 at 2012-01-11
nope no change, using the latest drivers, the DIrectX was done at install so I did it again and it said it was copying more files but no difference at all.
Strange.. it helped my machine straight away.. not that its running amazing however it is running much much better.. I do find the GP 60's cars are more forgiving than the new cars.
Can't test this with my driver, but thanks anyway btw. shouldn't it be the rfactor2.exe? instead of rfactor.exe?
Just a note to nvidia guys, even before rF2 came out, it was a known issue with recent nvidia drivers that the cards would crash and sometimes recover if... you had the power setting to "economy", choose "max power all the time" in nvidia control panel for your game profiles. from nvidia forums.
F1 Lover, I think that option only appears if you have onboard video chip as well as a dedicated vidcard. The nvidia software then chooses the most powerful option based on your selection. Also by reinstalling DirectX I think it is just going back and finding some files to complement your onboard video. But you should make it choose to use your dedicated video GPU in any case. I only get half decent frame rates by totally disabling/turning Off SLI mode. By default rFactor2 is using Alternate Frame Rendering mode 2 in SLI but it must be broken or disabled in this current rF2 build as it cripples the game when running. Hopefully ISI are working on a solution and then nvidia supply a profile. *** I tried using the SLI compatibility bits from rFactor original but no luck, I will try some other more common bits and maybe stumble upon one that works . Anyone else up to try a few ???
That didn't work but like the rest I use the latest drivers, thanks for trying. I bought two nvidia 460 version 3's just for RF2 and a readup said it supports SLI, most dissapointing, personally I can live with all the other "beta" issues but low frames destroy any game. I7 950, 16 gig, SLI, SDD drive and just not going well at all. Take pity on an X asrg guy from 15 years ago Tim and get us our SLI (and yes I used to race you, and lose)
Totally Agree with you Pits!! I am a Huge Rfactor Fan and have had some of my most Memorable and Fun races on it.... I understand that RF2 is a Beta, so the little gliches are to be expected and do not worry me in the slightest. What Kills this for me are the Massively low Frame rates - Which makes RF2 totally unplayable on my system. I know you could say just run one screen? but after spending money on 2 extra screens and 2 new Video Cards it is a waste to have them turned off. More and more people are setting up triple screens and hopefully we can find a fix for this soon. Looking forward to the next few months - The Final Product of RF2 will be all time!
Well it looks like the very first pic in this thread. To get there just Rclick on your desktop. If you dont see an option there, go: start/programs/nvidia. Otherwise you should have an icon in your windows cpl to get there. Once there, use the dropdown arrow to get to the power setting. np having it set as global if your global setting is max power. I was experiencing the blackouts a couple months ago until I checked out the nvidia forums. All good now. When I do an Nvidia update, I have it reset everything so I didn't catch that setting the last time. Defaults to economy.
