Ok, so unsubbed from all workshop content then uninstalled game and formatted SSD where rf2 was the only content on the drive. Re-installed rf2, 20 odd gig later, first time booting game, 70 odd installs, including formula E gen 2 again.(which of course failed) Deleted the contents of the 3x formula E gen 2 vehicle folders, removed the contents from Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960\1558324776 folder. Seems like vehicle contents for formula E gen 2 is now no longer wanting to install everytime the game starts. Great!! Still not sure why steam thinks I own/want this content, but anyhow working for now.
So uninstalled rF2, deleted the directory and re-install and still have the same trouble. I don't knowhow i could desactivate it. I upload a screenshot
You have an older mod that wants to use a previous version of the track. Use the packages screen or mod manager to look for mods and uninstall them.
Could you upload some Screenshots from the Folder ..\rFactor 2\Installed\Locations\Imola72_1972 the included Subfolders, that at least should be 1.02 and 1.03 and the Content of all existing Subfolders?
You should have 1.02 & 1.03. I would guess that is why the game is trying to continually update. delete that extra 1.02(1) folder for starters.
As it seems are the mft Files in both Folders empty. So delete the whole Imola72_1972 Folder and start the Game again. If the Problem still persists, post here again, i will upload my working Track then, that you can put it into your Installed Folder and try if that solves the Problem.
I just did that Same message 'unknown base mod required not installed' I really think i need to buy the DLC
You have a mod installed that is blocking the update. Try this Unsubscribe all the series in the workshop. Open rF2. Uninstall all the series (mods). Close rF2. Delete the Imola folder. Open rF2.
He did say he deleted and reinstalled everything already. And that makes the whole Thing so strange. EDIT And if he didn't buy the Track, why it gets installed? Normally i would expect that Content that you didn't buy won't get installed, even if you download a Server mod, that has it included.
This is not the first time we've seen something like this. Usually it happens when a modded track is used by an online server which downloaded the track to you when you wanted to join some race. (USUALLY) Why none of this deleting and replacing has not helped is perplexing.
Shall i upload the working Track, that you can test if it solves the Problem, when you put it into your Installed Folder?
Yes i know but if he is subscribed to any series of the workshop Steam Will try to install the content again. I don't know why is trying to install a DLC that he hasn't bought but i've seen very strange errors in this system.
It works! Thanks much! It doesn't want to update it anymore. Could you please send me the files for Imola01_2001, Imola18_2018 and Imola88_1988?
