Hello sim racers! Another new car announcement - the BMW M4 GT3 is about to arrive in rFactor 2!! Catch the details here: https://www.studio-397.com/2022/02/announcing-the-bmw-m4-gt3/
Hello @memoNo1 At present no, this will join the other GT3 cars on the current tyre model, with a view to updating and BOP'ing the full class further down the line. Frankly, time and capacity was just too short to put everything together at the right level for this particular release.
I knew the BMW would've been announced at some point Disappointed to not see the Porsche RSR-19, 991.2 GT3 R and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo (or something quite up with their relationship since I've heard nothing about the updates on the elder AMG GT3)
No worries. Yes it does have them, and it certainly feels really nice, even if we've still got further developments to bring to it ahead of release day. Good times!
Looks good, if there are more plans for the Endurance I hope to see a few from IMSA like Acura and Mazda. Is this the final announcement?
OMG stop announcing stuff, I have a busy work schedule and this is too much good stuff all at once! Seriously though, did S397 just rail a few lines and decide that 2022's ass needed to be thorough kicked? This is awesome! Cam
it seems that we will have the same liveries from the DTM Classe 1....not really beauty.....generic blue, grey, red, black.... rFactor 2 for offline users is made for hotlaping now.
Exactly. We have limitations in terms of licencing that dictate what liveries we can or can't add to a car. Not so for the community, who often make some really stunning designs.
sure, but the AI selection is always the same, a nightmare, and about the skins, if it's not a .rfcmp pack, it's very boring to install them, it's too much tricky. I will take the car like it's for the offline users, for hotlaping (or race with the others GT3, but it's always the same AI selection issue again) The indycar seems to have beauty liveries which are good for the offline races. It's very nice to have new content !
There are a couple of guys who are in the first stages of figuring out the paints needed to make this years Rolex field. I use an IMSA 2019 or 2020 premade grouping quite often.
I don't think there is any buzz around the M4 GT3, as it has been reported before(there was information in the summer, but I thought it would be released even earlier). I'm excited about the appearance of this car. Nurburgring waits for this
Indycar is more understandable to North American, it seems to me. It's not very popular in Europe, but the fact that it appeared is a big event for RF2. The BMW M4 GT3 is interesting in the context of IMSA GTD/GTD PRO. I like the multiclass. Too bad IMSA dropped the GTE, but 3 cars on the 2021 grid is utopia.
