I notice in the trace file he has enabled the trackmap plugin, I thought this was not compatible with dx11.
Yeah, but unlike when we first switched to dx11 it shouldn't break the game - the game now ignores that stuff. I do find it curious when those plugins are still sitting there though.
At least it worths the Try to deactivate it, to see if that helps. But i also have seen Trace Files already, where that Plugin was used and the Game nevertheless loaded properly.
It's possible that if he has installed the Trackmap plugin, there will be some d3d9.dll in his installation, and this crash rF2.
Yes I have had of it, but after unsubscribe the game loads the mod again, I don't know why. Yesterday I uninstalled the complete game and redownload it with all the subscribed mods. Now it doesnt download any of the mods called above. But the problem is the same. Now I haven't any DLCs only the original game. And ingame it is very difficult which car is form any Mod and which ist original in the main game.
Now I have tryed out, with S397 Track + S397 Car -> the same result... and deactivate and delete the TrackMap plugin
Search in your rF2 folder (and subfolders) files containing *d3d9*.dll and if you find any, delete them.
OK, then lets try another Thing. Ensure that you really remove all Plugins that are not original ones. Then, before you start rFactor 2, rename the Folder ..\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData into ..\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData_backup for Example and then start the Game. In that Way you get fresh User Files. Now do only select the S397 Silverstone Track GT Layout and the S397 Chevrolet -> Camaro GT3 2012. Does that load now?
It looks like this was the problem, the file was in Bin64 Folder. I tested 2 different tracks and two differnt cars. I try some tracks more, if you doesnt hear about me - it should be solved.
Had a friend who all the sudden couldn't completely load rF2, turned out to be the Graphics Config Panel "refresh" rate was incorrectly set to 144. He set it to 60Hz, and all was good.
@lagg That is interesting to know. I never use any Plugins, so i never get Problems with it. But i wouldn't expect that a d3d9 dll could cause Problems, even if it wasn't used by any Plugin. And if i understood it right, @senoyches did remove all Plugins already before. Anyway, good find @lagg, if that solved the Problem.
What I find puzzling is that this problem started after downloading some workshop mods - are there any that include d3d9.dll? Or TrackMap? Can only offer suggestions, sometimes there's a logical reasoning that produces a result, sometimes it's luck, sometimes we never know.
Yes, sometimes Things are included into the Mod Package, that should not be there at all. Like the from 3DSimEd generated _Output.scn Files, that are handled like a Track in rF2 and are shown as a Ghost Folder in the Track Selection then, like i reported HERE. The good Thing is, that most of the Problems can be solved by the Community. And often also by the Users themselves already, if they would do a Websearch.
I don't see the correlation. Serious question: can a workshop item put a file in the rF2 root folder, or under Bin64\Plugins?
No, normally not. And the Correlation is, that it's just another Example of Things that cause strange Problems.
