Another update....struggling with the road edges now....over done bump map....not sure if it is the setting in the Material Editor and the Fresnel setting..... Anyway....updated the first old house after I found colour photos and it has a red roof. So that is done and also updated the bricks in the chimney and trees in the yard. Also started to work on the sponsors. Hard to get clear photos but in the early days of Gnoo Blas, there were few sponsors anyway.
Just a quick update. Not a huge amount, just little stuff. Here is the missing house on the corner. Originally owned by Mrs Hennessey and she would open and close the gate, 24/7 365 days a year. I was going to release this weekend but the latest update broke a few things and the track edges will not show up, only in 3D Sim Ed. They will not work in the game. the update also broke Skippy in the Dev Mod (fixed by a file from Lazza) Once I get it working I will upload the next version. I still need to scale the pine trees and also the hedge. The hedge texture is too fine...need to find another. Not many hedges in rFactor
No. Learn the track. Also, over shoots were part of the deal back in the 1950s. I will ask some people who raced there if they had brake distance markers. If they did, I will put them in. Coming back from a too late brake! Jaguar heading down the escape road....same reason.
Starting to add cars and crowds. Also, I found a picture that shows the brake markers, yellow ones the same as Longford has, so must be how they did it in the 50s and 60s. Here is a photo of Gnoo Blas, no idea what year, but the crowds were huge. I can't replicate that lol. This is looking down Mental Straight and Windsock corner. I have also included a couple of pit photos as well. The number 69 Jag is the famous Grey Pussy.
Hey everyone, just a quick update. Version 1.10 * Added many track side objects * Animated marshals and flagman * Billboard crowds * Race cars in pits and spectators cars The future updates will just be fine tuning the track Best run with Black Flag rules. You do not want the pace car here....
Fantastic update, great atmosphere! I thought from your previous posts that you were going to add historically accurate brake markers? Not that I need them, I just count the fenceposts as they whiz by, but they might be useful for less skilled simracers...
It is really cool when you get people who knew the track from back in the 50s contact you and say such and such is missing. There was a foot bridge over Mental Straight that I never knew about. The bridge was saved and it is in a park at Orange. Funny how I used to ride my bike over it as a kid never knowing it was part of Gnoo Blas. Get my 3d scratch making skills up and running.
This is looking great Mike. Not had much time for rF2 this last while but will defo be giving this a try. Many thanks for all your work.
Update to the track. Brake markers are done. Bridge is done. Not 100% sure exactly where but close as I can get it. I need to add details to the bridge and also find out if people were allowed on the bridge during a race.Need to adjust the scale of the bridge.
Nothing is more fitting than Woochoo's Endurance cars from the 1950/60's or the Aussie Legends' touring cars (1970's)
