We're very pleased to be able to present another third-party creation for rF2 by James "cyruscloud" Mabe (JM Virtual Tracks) and SLN. This track includes a large oval and two flat but challenging infield roadcourse layouts. Steam users can download from the Steam Workshop (when posted - shortly). Non-steam users download below... Note: Cars with oval and road configs are due an update. If you get the wrong config in the meantime, force the upgrade. Download: 152MB Description: Traditionally an area of farmland, the Palm Springs Speedway was constructed after the devastating Hurricane Howston in 2006. Reconfigured multiple times, the circuit now offers a challenging 1.5-mile oval and two infield roadcourses. Configurations: This release has one oval layout and two roadcourses. 1.5 mile oval- Far different to the regular 'cookie cutter' 1.5-mile ovals, Palm Springs is a true oval shape that often provides multiple racing grooves. 2.18 mile roadcourse - This flat but challenging roadcourse only uses the front straight/pit area of the oval as well as the backstraight. The blend of slow to medium speed turns makes for a challenging race. 2.27 mile roadcourse - This flat but challenging roadcourse departs the oval into turn 1, then uses the infield for a flat and challenging diversion until it exits back onto the oval out of turn 2; It then uses the rest of the oval, including turns 3 and 4. Authors: Special thanks to James "cyruscloud" Mabe (JM Virtual Tracks) and SLN for their assistance.
It looks like it doesn't auto-select the correct car configuration??? On the oval I went into the pit, and in the pitmenu it said road course tyres??? I like the track itself though
Can you comment on whether or not there will be any AI improvements? Even having the AI strength at 104%, I was still able to nearly start lapping in less than 10 laps. I would be cool if the AI would push hard for 10-15 laps and then go into "tire management" mode if that's possible. I really like that you are bring in outside help for the tracks. I look forward to a short track like Richmond or Iowa next.
Thanks, i recogniced a very nice night lightning. Would be nice to see this kind & quality of night lightning on more tracks...
