This is the most useful piece of code ever written guys and it's free. The whole entire Universe in less than 1GB and the best of it all....IT IS FREE! Well, consider a donation if you can spare some. This is basically a one man project. http://en.spaceengine.org/
A trip down memory lane, some old school goodness and a look at the future with Richard Garriott and Starr Long.
Ultima 8 was the first Ultima I have ever played. I did not have my own PC back then so I didn't get very far in the game and I remember it crashed a lot. I'll see if I can get it from somewhere. Just for the sake of the old days. I just realised this was more than 20 years ago!! Damn, I'm old! Btw: The Truth! Believe it or not.
GOG has Ultima 8, for one place. It is supposed to be the patched version, so it shouldn't crash. Ultima IV on my Apple //e was my first Ultima. I also cut my programming teeth on the Apple. Graphics was my area. Getting fast graphics on an Apple //e was a rewarding achievement. Richard Garriott touches on why. Anyway, that was 32 years ago. I don't think I'm old, but the ever increasing gray hair isn't helping any.
Haha, at least you still have hair. I tried my luck at coding some 10 years ago in C++ and I think I can honestly say I suck at it. Short video of SpaceEngine I recently put together. It would be a dream if the Rogue System guy would come to some sort of agreement with this guy. *hint*
Niels talking about the new sims around, saying some nice words about rFactor2 and Terence Groening and Michael Borda (xcuse me if i spelled it wrong). Downside he's telling the complexity of rFactor 2 could be a problem for the modding community. imho Apex, Slow Motion and ASR modding proof it is possible to do and make some serious slick mods
