You are my new SUPER HERO. GREAT, it works! Is the collision mesh of any use in the current rF2 build? I recently had a look at the new ISI C6R and the collision mesh is commented out. The whole gen file has no object marked as CollTarget=True.
My guess is essington I have a question for you guys! Last time I tried this mod with my low spec system, I had a lot of loss of FPS when I was close to another car. Is it still the case ?
The track is a modified Essington. It's one of my test tracks with tweaked environment reflections and new textures. I have put a lot of work (and testing) in the LOD system of all cars, so performance should be improved. For the best performance I recommend to stay in cockpit view (bonnet view and swingman cam are ok too) for the session. Whenever I switch to external cams (tv cams) and back to cockpit view I see a fps drop by 20-30% when I have lots of cars on the track. It seems the LOD's don't work anymore when you change to the external cameras (possible bug in the game, need more testing).
You're welcome To be honest I've had no look into the C6R or camaro files since later updates. Anyhow you can simply test it by ramming some opponents If this works without collision there should be no real cause for keeping this extra mesh! Thank you, will have a look at them later (currently I need to focus on some real life stuff again )
Latest findings: Collision mesh is still in use/required for collisions. And even more important: Put the collision mesh in the call-up order BEFORE the subshadow and everything is OK with the reflections! This is such a stupid silly mistake...so trivial but very effective xD
Good job! I've moved the line for the collision mesh for all cars (for safety reasons ) and it works. Collision mesh is required, otherwise the engine puts a large collision box around the car.
It's really encouraging to see such an interesting collaboration between several Gurus. rF2 community is great.
Guru!? No. I'm just a guy giving back something for all the sacrifice of guys like Yoss. No more, no less.
This car has such a cool mesh. It's really fun to work with this kind of stuff. Just a quick alpha channel test. Need to fix some edges on the sides.
Although i like and liked what Yoss and Apex did so far it's great to see you working on this with such great enthusiasm Tosch this also is counts for FuNK great to see you guys giving a helping hand to make a mod that is great already (imho) getting even greater. BTW pics look really cool
What time of the day is that? 7pm? How are the headlights? Quite liking the natural look. I have my game pretty much maxed out and nVidia control panel set to very high quality. I wonder if it's because I run 1440p that my stuff doesn't look as good.
Those screenshots look incredible. Light and reflections on the McLaren in the second one look completely real. Just a question, yoss, have you planned uploading the mod to Steam Workshop?
