I have Ai auto calibrate set to 2 but WIS file is only 1kb. I do not receive any message that AI is training. I thought there was a get out of my way human message that should be displayed. I have set opponents at 1 AI in a practice session and also tried practice + race. Still the same. As well as the 1 AI T Trainer is also on track. I do not leave the pit but T Trainer goes on track so it cant be the ghost car. I let the 1 AI do at least five laps as set in the plr flle then wait for it to return to the pit before leaving the track to check WIS file. Seems to me this feature is not working.
There are no AI "chat" messages indicating that this is working. That is my fault; I'll implement some for the next build. Secondly, this new system doesn't make little improvements every lap like the old system tried to do. In this new system, the car goes out for (by default) 24 laps at a time (he warms up his tires the first 3 laps, then runs 3 alternating trials of X laps each...as defined in the playerfile....default is 7). After that 24* lap excursion, he returns to the pit and figures out which of the 3 trial values for that particular variable worked best (i.e. fastest time) through each "corner" and adds those results to his "wisdom" database. Then, before he refuels and heads out for another run, he figures out a new variable to test & 3 "trial" values (for each corner) to try based on past best values. I've been setting the game in time acceleration mode and letting them run 240-300 laps to build up a decent sized database.
Where can I find those wis files? Does it work in devmode so that we can use AI to improve fast path of the AIW? enviado mediante tapatalk
Thanks Mike that makes a bit more sense, apart from "Default 7", mine is AI Calibrate Sample Size="5" by default unless you meant another option?.
And how can it be implemented in devmode? I really dont know how to make a mod in dev mode. It took me quite a while to figure out how to implement a car different than rtrainer. I hope it works with testing mod which I modified to include the ferrari from BES. . enviado mediante tapatalk
If I had the AI run laps offline on one install of rF2, then put that .wis file on my dedi server (separate machine) would that work?
Answered my own question- yes, it seems to. But I don't understand the .wis files. There isn't much in there and don't seem to contain information, just { CorneringCaution UnderSteerEffectOnThrottleMulti UnderSteerEffectOnLineMulti SPEED } 1 { CorneringCaution UnderSteerEffectOnThrottleMulti UnderSteerEffectOnLineMulti SPEED Repeated a lot of times. Unless the problem is that Notepad doesn't read all the information in the file or something. There seems to be no values or anything. Kind of weird.
talk me through the process when you do it, from start to finish. As I've got it working just fine bar a few areas that may need MikeZ' attention. edit: do it with a stock ISI car & Track, Meganes at Lime Rock Park-No Chicane for example.
Edit your .PLR Choose the mod and track Set your session up for Practice only (no quali or race) start the session (it should be set for 30 hours regardless of what you chose when you set it up) Let the AI run (hit Ctrl X to speed it up)
That could be the problem, I did this and got same results (2kb file), have a Qualifying session selected and it worked for me when I hit Finish Session then Leave Track, the WIS file is there and correctly generated. Just make sure you set enough time in the Practice Session for 240-300laps.
try with a default plr and just change the autocalibrate, works fine for me so unsure why it's not for you.
I'd noticed this missing in the last few builds but mysteriously it started working today. View attachment 11280
That's when you have autocalibrate AI set to 1 instead of 2. MarcG- you have it working with a single ISI car mod on a ISI track. If you put 3rd party cars or tracks or use a mod with more than 1 car, you won't have as much luck.
