Definitely, this track have better performance than Silverstone. The level of detail is not as high like Silverstone, because I am not a professional like them and because the circuit is a conversion, and the objects were made for rFactor (1) and have fewer polygons, but I think that this is a virtue. It is possible to do a good job with a conversion and at the same time have better performance. I believe that we must find a balance graphic on the tracks. It is not necessary to have a house with great graphic detail situated away from the circuit, for example. The closest objects can and should have a better detail, but the more distant do not need it. Fences, for example, can be made with a plane, like in this circuit. With a good texture, the result is still good and improve performance and the same applies to many other things. Regards.
Thanks for the detailed performance answer, it definitly doesn't look any worse than Silverstone from the screens.
It's great to see someone putting effort like this into a conversion, there are a lot of quick and dirty conversions that simply look terrible but this goes to show that you can bring them up to an exceptional level (as with pleclairs nords, and some others)
I have read comments in several places about why waste time making wet reflections for Bahrain. Well, I know that not raining too much there, but if happens, I am sure that you like see the reflections on the track, so I did it. I also want to highlight that the wet track captures were made with the "Viewer", not within the game. There, the quality is a little better.
Ignore the rF2 naysayers especially the ones from the VirtualR blog. There's plenty of us on here who appreciate the time and effort you modders are putting into making tracks. Thanks very much for what you are doing by the way.
+1 I used to go to VirtualR just for comedy purposes but it has gotten so ridiculous over there that it isn't even funny anymore.. Keep up the amazing work, McNolo.
Worry not about the morons McNolo. Your work looks lovely and of course you would want wet reflections regardless of annual rainfall. There are a lot of buttheads in the race sim community. I for one appreciate your attention to detail and hard work. Stay the course brother!
Call people names all you want, but the pictures that showed up on Vr were not as great looking as what I've seen here.
I just wanted to clarify that. The negative comments are not important to me, unless it are constructive.
That's exactly what I was talking about!!! Great job! And those of us with brains are happy that you have learned about wet reflections because they will come in handy on other tracks where it does rain more than once a year!
Yes, still wip, but release is getting closer. There will be 5 layouts with 3 GP variants: - Grand Prix 2012 (1 DRS zone, free to use out of DRS zone in practice and qualifiying) - Grand Prix 2013 (2 DRS zones limited to use all weekend only in DRS zones) - 6 Hours of Bahrain (Grand Prix Layout but with more garages, 18 teams + 2 located on the outside = 40 cars) - Endurance (same garages than 6 Hours) - Paddock (same garages than 6 Hours) - Outer (same garages than 6 Hours) - Inner Outside of Formula 1, there aren't electronic flags in real life tracks, but that's probably due to lack of budget. However, it are very useful, and for this reason I will keep it on all the layouts. Regards.
Thanks for info. Can't wait for drive this track. You have done huge work on this track and I'm sure your efforts will be appreciated. Cheers!
