Hello all. I use RF2 in Vr with opencomposite on my quest 2 . Games run very well end beautiful like this, but so bad on steamvr, even with the last version. I heard that opecompiste will no longer be updated, so going on with this game, and so byuing new addons , is dependant on the compatibilty with opencomposite. I saw on steam stats that oculus helmet is more than 50% of vr users on pc, so can i hope a future "launch on oculus mode" , like others sim-racing titles, for this sim ?
If you go to the opencomposite you willl see that its still quite active there People exchanging their experiences with meta headsets There was a massive issue with meta app59 but it is resolved now My testing with a Q2 in the past was positive in fps improvement and overall smoothness
@nolive721 could you share a link of that site? The OpenXR Toolkit web says that Opencomposite is not supported anymore and they removed the OpenComposite section.
you need to go to that Gitlab I think now. there is a link to the Discord where you can ask for help as well https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR
So i report the subject here : I saw on steam stats that oculus helmet is more than 50% of vr users on pc, so can i hope a future "launch on oculus mode" , like others sim-racing titles, for this sim ?
Are you sure? The opencomposite discord is quite active Its openxrtool that is deprecated Actually i had an opencomposite update just yesterday
That’s be >50% of ALL steam users who completed the survey(which is optional and voluntary), how many are rF2 users?…. No way of knowing from the data supplied.
Would love to see the Oculus runtime implemented, using Open composite at the moment, looks awesome with good performance . (Quest 3)
Exactly, good performance so why would you want the oculus runtime access? using opencomposite.right now we actually skip steamvr and that’s at least partially why perd are better there is another Sim that actually runs ovr runtime even selecting steamvr in the Game launch because devs didn’t make a proper implementation with the consequence for us quest users not to be able to use the openxr tools and take advantage of it sorry and I am happy to be educated otherwise but what would be the benefit for RF2?
That is true, but for me it has introduced I little instability I had a Index for several years and it was very stable and always worked perfectly, but with open composite and the Quest 3 in RF2 it can crash occasionally.
I see the only time I had an issue on my QUEST2. with opencomposite was because of Meta Wehrmacht they pulled the app v59 update it totally broke the use now for me it’s back smooth as butter and enjoying. the Sim very much in VR
Yes I had the problem with the v59 update I'm not sure what is causing the instability, meta or open composite, but when it works which it does most of the time it looks awesome with great performance I just wish I could use just one system for every game.
Oh maybe, i don't look on discord. But anayway, to use opencomposite, i need with my quest the new dll in the rf2 folder. An "occulus mode" like many other games, for the 50% vr helmet on steam, would be a good thing. No need to "patch" the game or add a software. That latest dll show it's possible.
