Hello sim racers, A note to all modders and workshop uploaders - we've updated our Steam Workshop profile to allow users to update their items with a wide selection of item tags - to help make searching and filtering an easier process for everyone. The S397 Workshop items have already been updated with these tags - feel free to update your own items, and let's make Steam Workshop in rFactor 2 a little easier to navigate for everyone! Not sure how to upload and add tags? Check out this user guide link for full instructions: https://docs.studio-397.com/users-guide/uploading-content-to-steam-workshop
Very good idea! Thank you for the idea! Another idea, would it be possible to distinguish S397 mods and modders's mods with for example a S397 badge for official content? Also visible in rF2.
Hi @Paul Jeffrey. Excellent idea, thank you. Have you seen this thread that I very recently created in the wishlist part of the forum ? This is a very similar idea applicable to the UI, car selection part and track selection part ? https://forum.studio-397.com/index....filter-car-and-track-selection-screens.73258/
Funny timing, but that's something very similar to something internally I've also requested Lets see how it goes...
Excellent. One more tag for league content too please as that really makes the workshop a messy mess.
I Like it. If you select multiple they all must be true in order got get a result. ). Are you able to implement "OR" option as well ? Lets say I want "Road Course" or "Street Circuit". Or Perhaps "Road Course" or "Open Wheel" ?
a small thing i noticed , the Caterham has prototype tag. if im not wrong prototype is only for lmp, dpi , lmh etc kind of cars right ? just wanted to report it, seems like a mistake imo but if it is intentional then all good.
@Paul Jeffrey @Alex Sawczuk Hello, is it possible to set the "User Definable Tags" afterwards without updating the track, HUD, CAR'S?
I don't believe so, and once again there's not much we can do about this, it is steam's infrastructure
I had not read the article to the end "If you have already created an article, you can follow the instructions above to create one. In the "publishedfileid" field you can change the number of your already created article. Note that you must be logged in with the same account you used to upload the original file."
ah yeah it would probably only update the meta data, but you need to have the same file setup locally as is on the workshop
Had some time this weekend and finally got around to trying this... to update the workshop item (SHQM_HUD) with the "HUD" tag. I setup the uploader tool as instructed in the user guide... and simply tried to run it with "tags" being the only thing to change (content folder having the same rfcmp version that was posted to workshop). But would not process. After doing some other trials, I ended up repackaging the rfcmp and labeled it as new version (1.6.3), and the uploader tool processed successfully. "HUD" tags now applied. So if have existing workshop item and want to apply a 'tag'... you might try repacking the component/mod as new version and submitting it while also providing the tag information.
Did you use the Updater Tool from THIS Site? If yes and you couldn't get it working, i can offer to help. Just contact me by a private Conversation.
