Hey guys, Anyone with experience when it comes to damage modelling? For my Cayman I'm thinking about a few options: A - Damage 3D model shows after original model part gets a hit B - Original model part detached from car after hit, a simple chassis is showed C - Original model part keeps on car but keeps attached on one side of the car for example (skewed) What options do work and how do you do it? I'm sure option B is used 9 out of 10 times.
What I was thinking is correct then. Another option is or was to add a lower poly damage bumper under the HQ version. But that is not a good way (GPU) intensive. What I did so far, I go for plan B then with A (damage texture) and a low poly chassis like the rear part of car. Thanks for the fast answer. Not possible:
You could use debris instances, only issue with them is they don't get replaced at pit stops if you repair damage.
FWING & RWING instance can be repaired & restored to car. Put parts together with FWING or RWING object could be a workaround option.
