Volkswagen Lupo 2003 ============================== Build 1.03, February 17th, 2022: - fixed black rain in certain tracks, sue to wrong rF2 code ============================== Build 1.02, December 10th, 2021: - fixed Posled class Build 1.01 December 08th, 2021: - fixed working F7 key Build 1.0 November 13th, 2021 With the full permission of GSMF another great mod will be available in the future: the Volkswagen Lupo GTI, that raced the ADAC Lupo Cup 2003. As usual, everything has been updated to the latest standard of rFactor2. I have also painted 4k PBR 10 new skins in addition to the revised original 18 cars that raced the 2003 season. In fact physics, painting and template are almost final, the 3d is not bad as it is, but needs some remake on fenders and Chris @redapg will take care of it. The re-development strictly follows the philosophy of the car like also GSMF did: no settings! Please read the explanation of the original authors! Team GSMF proudly presents the ADAC VW Lupo Cup 2003 Mod Together with Matthias Meyer ex-Lupo Cup driver, we developed this mod with very realistic physics, sounds and graphics. In this case, you are only able to change the tire pressure in the setup menu, like it was in the 2003 Lupo Cup. The fact, that the VW lupo has a very short wheelbase and only tire pressure can be changed, you have to set this car up a bit different as other known race cars. This front wheel drive car normally has a huge amount of understeer, to avoid this, real Cup drivers increased their rear tire pressure. In the Mod this means that a front pressure of about 175 and a rear pressure of about 210 will help to decrease the problem of understeer. But a negative aspect of this high tire rear pressure is a very "unstable" car under braking and lifting of the throttle. Here you have to find a good balance of pressure and driving style! The tire heating is also very closely resembled to the real cup lupo. A smooth driving style will avoid (over)heating of the tires, and a good throttle control is needed, because the front driven tires will develop much wheelspin, even when accelerating in 3rd or 4th gear. That´s the theory, now lets drive! That's great news! Especially as an former member of GSMF who was involved in the creation of this mod for rFactor (painting, testing, etc.) and created a private conversation to rFactor2 a couple of years ago, it's really a great pleasure to see this in such good hands! Keep it coming! Maybe you allow me a small trip down the memory lane: The Lupo's shape was off a little from the very beginning (a little too high roof and front), but no one ever actually noticed although the team was fully aware (it was one of the first 3D models it's original creator did and he had no proper blueprints). I made a quick and dirty fix some time after its publication, however, it never made its way to public. The skins for the Lupo were put together rather short term. I and another member did put together the missing skins, with some creativity involved (e. g. I had to handpaint the Pringles logo as there was no proper one to get back then). It was great fun and we managed to get everything done so the mod could be released as planned. Testing was a great experience! Matthias was a great help. And quick as hell! He confirmed the car behaved as expected and he was able to apply all his setup tricks from the real world. Purely amazing races and learning for the whole team!
working on SpecMiata and 2CV (just started) too... Lupo still needs some check to the physics before being ready for test Haris.
This is something that is under development on devmode beta rF2... in fact with the public build drops are where they should be, LOL
I just clarified that is something without any control by us. I already added the bug to the internal S397 list, no problem at all... I would say thank you for focusing on it!
