I don't know how valid A.I performance is for comparing but on 3 different tracks the supercup qualified faster. I tested this on NORDS, portland and suzuka. Looks like the power and weight penalty on endurance version is more punishing than the benefits of aero and suspension tuning. Maybe with player physics the results may be different.
Dude, I dont want to be rude but do you have any idea about what is being talked here??? This is the Porsche Cup car, it has nothing to do with Le Mans, or Spa, etc And despite the name it has it's not even a "GT3"
Yes, the Endurance version of the Cup car, this one is used in the VLN and some other series that uses the Porsche Cup class
yes and he asked for the endurance version of the pcup what others difference has besides the setup that is obvious... so i answered probably the fuel tank and tire presure where is the odd thing ? maybe others who might know more can add to the discussion
facepalm.... nevermind, actual difference has been posted before. In short. Supercup = harder to drive, faster. Endurance = easier to drive, slower It has nothing to do with Le Mans, or whatever. Nuff said
I think you are wrong. The cup is called "GT3 cup" in the Porsche regulations. And there are many many subclasses possible: https://www.porsche.com/porschesportscup-germany/de/downloads/rules/ check the pdf there page 34ff
I think @Will Mazeo is trying to say that there is no different aero package based on circuit for cup cars.
What is the weight distribution of cup car no fuel ? i'm asking this because after i read the post on sector3 forums which said that with full fuel load the weight distribution is 40:60. Then what is the distribution with no fuel? Edit: In my calculations i found out the weight distribution of cup car dry weight at 1200kg is ->> 36.3(F):63.7(R) Is this correct ?
It's always fun when someone gets confused with Porsche GT3 Cup, anyway: The Endurance package consists of different dampers and 2 sets of softer springs, compared to the Supercup specification. The Endurance package also comes with ABS system and aerodynamic package: front fender flares + rear wing 10 mm gurney flap and restricts the engine power output to a nominal 413 PS. Additionally the Endurance package also comes with a possibility to refuel the car, with fuel tank capacity lowered to 95 L, compared to 100 L with the Supercup specification. The car also weighs 30 kg more. https://www.studio-397.com/2019/11/content-updates/
Thats because the default brake pressure is set v low, summit like 80%, knock it up to %100 and its a different story
What a gem this car is! i didn't even know that there are still modern tintops without abs or tc. i would have bought the car on release if i would have known this.. been watching a lot cup races on youtube and you can see from the race videos that this is really handfull to drive even irl. a lot of quick countersteering inputs on exits, and the nose lightness is visible when looking at the cars suspension/chassis movement. shame no one is racing this gem online. there have been 3 servers with the car all week, and they are almost always empty (well today there was one french driver in the VRS server for a bit..) Also didn't know that this series was raced in Finland aswell. lots of good onboard of the finnish series on youtube. here is the link for the channel if anyone (finns here) is interested: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0s1Nt7hUkrqIIPkEqWMf3A the AI is super fast with this car tough, or im just slow with this. i would welcome AI nefr to this car so i wouldn't have to chance the AI strenght just for this car. usually the AI speed is pretty consistent trough out the cars in the game.
Funnily enough it was a bit rubbish on release but intervening tweaks have made it a gem. Very involving and immersive.
iRacing's version and it's series is the best in the platform. I hope in the upcoming comp system 397 have plans to make series with porsche cup and skip barber too.
