I already mentioned it in another thread but also here: Fingers crossed, everything shines as bright as it possibly could for rF2, so i really hope, all the hard work by S397 pays off without major issues! THIS is what many sim racers wished to see for basically almost 2 decades.
What I do not understand is why rFactor 2 is never mentioned as the plaform used for this. It was not in the event posters, it was not mentioned in any of the WEC, FIA, 24h of Le Mans offical media... I am currently watching the livestream and they just say "this platform". FOR FUCK SAKE, mention rFactor 2 as the platform that makes all this possible!
Live timing: https://livetiming.alkamelsystems.com/lm24virtual Quite strange, all years at this moment I'm spaming the mulsanne corner fb group and not this forum
Right now, it feels like Le Mans and it's mostly flawless. Brilliant for rF2 standards even. So fingers crossed!

It looks very impressive at the moment. Agree that it feels like watching Le Mans. Let’s hope that there are no major hiccups later on. rFactor 2 just got its first mention 1 hour in. I can’t help but feel that Studio 397 have missed the boat by not releasing an ‘Endurance’ edition of the game to coincide with the event.
rF2 was mentioned a couple of times in the pre-race, but agreed, some more comments with the name would have been nice. Fernando Alonso missed his pit box(after the crash) and lost gobs of time trying to get a pitstop started. I've seen one major lag spike when the By Kolles went sideways across the Porsche curves, but carried on as if nothing happened. In the USA, ESPN2 is cutting away to commercial without any warning, for example half-way thru Alan McNish driving the pace car around the circuit....CUT TO COMMERCIAL(and it was a-lot of them)
Loved it....Jackie Ickyx not so subtly displaying his watch to Alan McNish...yes, Alan, I have more of these than you.....
Absolutely no rFactor 2 logo on the broadcast. No mention of it in the description of the stream. Absolutely no mention of it on the FIA WEC site. So all these new eyes on sim racing right now have absolutely no idea what software is being used to simulate Le Mans. There's absolutely no way all of the 18k plus watching the main stream right now are all sim racers. What a disaster for 397. What an absolute, unmitigated public relations disaster. The only thing worse than bad pr. Is nobody knowing who you are at all. I feel like there's a marketing rep somewhere dusting off their resume and surfing indeed today. If there isn't. There should be.
Red flag: technical problem That's the reason of no "rf2" logo or promotion in the event Another fault for the sim?!?
Agree with the missing rF2 logo, but the FIA WEC stream definitively has a video description, which mentions rFactor2 as used platform. Description: "The first ever 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual brings together the world’s best professional drivers and sim racers, competing together on the rFactor 2 platform in a 50-car field over 24 hours on the legendary French track."
