You drive mostly offline ?
Yep... that's why I asked...
The update's fixed the wrecking at Gerlachbocht as far as I could see, they still clip it but not to the extent they get airborne.
You should see summer here in Sweden. Bright daylight at 4:00.
Pro-tip: turn off car shaking "AIR" and the circular shakes goes away. Keep "Engine ALL" instead for more natural shaking of the car.
Pro-tip for Rudy van Buren ^^^
p.s. just as every guide from every pro - not helpful at all Even though this was more like revision of the track, and a bit of vision of the future.
But usually all pro guides: Very fast turn, third gear, back to fourth, use all the road, push hard, prepare for braking, very fast corner, back on power
Just thought no one can like the car shake "AIR" as it makes the car shake in unrealistic circles. But maybe he likes it.
Most likely I also don't think that it is shaking of the car, but shaking of the head due to aerodynamics ?
Perhaps. Still, circle shakes is weird. Remove AIR and use Engine ALL and youll see how much more awesome the shakes are. Both air and engine is on by default.
Im into design so i notice weird things very easily. Or, im sensitive to them.
Performance on this track is really bad.
On Silverstone = 140 FPS
On Zandvoort = 30-50
Depends in large part on "race conditions" :
Rain/not rain, amount of clouds, amount of AI, types of AI cars and multi-class race, time of day (sun, reflections, shadows, artificial lights, ...), player's car, etc.
Same everything: cars, dry weather with light clouds.
Silverstone was released in 2013, you need to compare with a newer track.
Have you tried the suggested graphical settings? - https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/latest-release-1109-rain-effects-and-more.58675/
What are your PC specs, rF2's graphical settings and resolution you are using?
It can be a pain in the butt to diagnose issues, especially a 90fps frame rate drop so clearly something is up. I'm finding no real difference in track performance apart from the ultra detailed Sebring and Suzuka which is a performance hog in certain corners/conditions.
Silverstone was updated to DX11 standard last year. Should be comparable with current S397 tracks.
Except the rain, the low sun and the number of AI :
The most greedy parameter in performance is the shadows.
Off there are almost no shadows on Silverstone.
Actually it's an old track, it probably has less details than Zandvoort.
To compare two track, compare with same weather, same "low sun", same number of AI, same types of AI, same car, 100% same graphical parameters, start at the same place at the start, etc.
Do not look at the minimum FPS, but the average FPS (Riva Tuner server statistics for example).
I tested Zandvoort in VR in 100% full ultra with 15 AI, the performance is similar to Sebring, and is largely better than Monaco E prix (equivalent performance on Monaco with only 5 AI ...).
Look, i have to prepare for a race. This is AI 100% in practice session (preset heavy), i (P1) am driving a quick and dirty but stable race setup with 50L - Online quali time has to be low 1:36, AI times in Quali are getting worse they are all around 1:40 and also with 100% i see them flying and weirdly braking.
So, no need for AI at 120% ? Please - fix the AI on this wonderful track. Its useless like it is.
Btw: RL Quali time Adac GT Masters is 1:37.
It's not the track AI that is the problem. The S397 GT3s tend to be slow everywhere leading me to to believe it's the cars that are the issue.
Ok , i really don't care what is responsible as long as it get fixed somehow. And i had funny, close races with GT3 AI on other tracks, mod or stock content. Usually i put them on 120% and if i can beat them - i am ready to go online ,)
