Simracing United's GT Pro Series is back!

On September 16, 2018 our GT Pro Series open its gates to season 08.
This traditional series is still based on UnitedRacingDesign's latest version of the EGT mod, but now providing all DX11 features. Since last season the URD's Ford GT was added and even the latest tire model of rFactor2 is now embeded in a completely reworked version.
The regulations barely changed, nearly not worth mentioning.
From now on our GT Pro Series is held in English completely in order to reach a larger amount of possible participants.
Also further, proven cornerstones remain: 12 championship races of 75 minutes all over the world, the weather-plugin, the popular track voting and of course, an extensive preseason to test the vehicles and especially the new tires. Additional ballast and low driving aids should offer the best conditions to newcomers and old hands to prove themselves in the battle for victories and titles.

After more than 4 weeks of testing, on October 17th the Okayama International Circuit awaits the participants for the first training sessions of the season opening race which will take place on October 30, 2018.

Further information can be found in our forum of the GT Pro Series at Simracing United.

It's been a while since the final round of GT Pro series' season 7.
After 378 days the GT Pro Series returns on Tuesday, October 30th with its first championship race of season 8 in Okayama.

Meanwhile more than 30 drivers subscribed and we expect most of them to join. You will recognize a lot of well-known names in the series, but also some new competitors. We are lucky because the champions of the previous 5 seasons and also some vice-champions are going to join us once again.

The reigning champion Alex Bräutigam and Martin Ulrik had probably the best pace in the training sessions, but also Kevin Jäger, the Swedish driver Rickard Nilsson and a few others seem to claim for victory. Let's see, who learned most about the new tires and who is the best of them on the small former Formula 1 circuit.
The weather seems to stay dry and stable, so we may expect an exciting race through the whole grid.

As he did so often before, Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the first round the GT Pro series / season 8 on October 30, 2018 from 07:50 pm.

About 2 weeks ago the reigning champion Alex Bräutigam won season 8's opening race with an awesome no-pit stop strategy.
In the upcoming 2nd championship race in Eastern Creek we might see another winner with no pit stops again. But this time it would be caused by the weather conditions as we are expecting a race evening in troughout very wet conditions.
Can it get even harder? Yes, it can. The race will start at 10:00 pm in-game time with floodlight blinding the drivers. In order to push the challenge even further, Sydney Motorsport Park is bumpy track beginning with a first turn at around 230 km/h.

The training sessions did not clearly show any favorite driver for the win. It seems, the number of competitive participates even raised compared to Okayama.
These circumstances make us expect a very tough and a really varied event.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the second round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on November 13, 2018 from 08:00 pm.

For its third championship race of the season SimRacing United's GT Pro Series moves to Europe for the next 5 events. After stopping by on 2 tracks where overtaking was really hard, the first European event makes it way more easy as we are racing in Monza.
Although all cars can do the same lap times on this traditional high speed track, especially Corvettes and BMWs are suffering a lack of top speed. So those drivers who chose one of the mentioned cars, might look towards a very tough event.

The conditions will probably stay dry, but the described circumstances do not allow to name any favorites.
Let's find out who can keep his nerves together best at about 290 km/h.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.

Before starting into the Christmas break, SimRacing United's GT Pro Series stops by on the Circuit de Catalunya. Although the track near Barcelona is well-known, it is very agressive in terms of tire wear.
Those drivers who haven't found the deciding clicks in their setup, have to deal with massive under and over steering - maybe already from lap 10 on. If that was not hard enough, the curbs and run off-areas are very slippery as well.

The training sessions seemed to show most drivers with high additional ballasts will have to hope for trouble in the front rows. Otherwise they can probably only become best of the rest.
For the first time this season, a race evening starts and a single favorite driver can be named: It is Alex Bräutigam who was very strong during the training weeks since he got rid any ballast after a 10th place in Monza.
We will see, if Alex can confirm the good pace in training or of there others who can surprise.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the fourth round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on December 11, 2018 from 08:00 pm.

The Christmas break and SimRacing United's GT Pro Series races in the city of Baku in Azerbaijan. Although the track is in a city, it provides the longest straight of the season with a top speed of 297 km/h.
This time tire wear should not be the issue, but the additional ballast of the drivers who were successful in Barcelona hurts very much - typical for a stop and go-track.

With far more than 1.000 laps of training, Danny ter Maten should be named as the top-favourite, but also Sascha Glatter showed, that he is always able to fight for victories.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the fifth round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on January 22, 2018 from 08:00 pm.

From Azerbaijan to Belgium, from Baku to Spa-Francorchamps... Once again in this season SimRacing United's GT Pro Series hits a highspeed track. But those who think, driving on the well-known roller coaster track is easier than on a very fast street circuit is wrong. The surface in Spa turned out to be very slippery and low downforce setups don't help to keep the cars on the track.
This time tire strategies can play a very important role because 3 different strategies are serious options, each providing different advantages, risks and chances.

Off course, the fast guys did good lap times as usual, but the training sessions did not show clear favorites for the 6th race of the season. Also the training race left a lot of question marks.
So, pretty sure there will be an interesting event in Spa, a lot of hard fights to see and perhaps even some surprises to come.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the sixth round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on February 05, 2019 from 08:00 pm.

SimRacing United's GT Pro Series already starts into the 2nd half of the current season. Race seven in Thruxton could become a very interesting one. Thruxton Circuit is a crazy flat out-track in Great Britain with an average lap speed of more than 200 km/h where the main focus is about not crashing the car. Especially here the championship leader Alex Bräutigam is suffering a qualification ban and some other well placed drivers have to serve driver through penalties . For sure, high additional ballasts will make it even harder to finish in a good position.

Yet, the weather forecast constantly changes between rain or light rain during the whole evening and perhaps a bit of drizzle during the race.
As nearly all training session stayed dry, possible rain setups might be a piece of guessing.
Whatever will happen, it will probably be a very exciting event.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the seventh round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on February 19, 2019 from 08:00 pm.

    Down in the swamps...
SimRacing United's GT Pro Series stops by at NOLA Motorsports Park in Louisanna, a track looking like some roads of tarmac settled down in the swamps ...next to a small ferris wheel.

After the flood in Thruxton the drivers may expect a race in dry conditions on a fairly new track. It provides some really tight and slow corners stressing the tires massively, but also an almost flat out-chicane which becomes harder to drive through out the stint.
Time to take an early look at the championship standings:
The current top 3 drivers in the championship, Alex Bräutigam, Kevin Jäger and David Jundt - all members of the Black Hawk Racing crew - are separated by 18 points each. There is already a small gap to the guys behind, so the spectators can probably start focussing on the main championship contenders.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the eighth round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on March 05, 2019 from 08:00 pm.

From 1982 to 2007 the Grand Prix of Cleveland was an Indy car event, held 26 times at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. Now, in 2019, SimRacing United's GT Pro Series also returns to the airfield circuit - 5 years and 6 days after their first stop here.
This track is unique in every way. The track is wider than any other track, providing theoretical space for a "seven wide" before turn 1 and turn 2. Perhaps it is the only track giving no advantage to any kind of GTE car, neither front-engine cars, nor mid-engine or rear-engine cars. Finally it is the only race held on a concrete surface instead of tarmac.

Maybe the amount of drivers who could win is higher than on many other circuits this season, especially as the lap times are quite close together.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the nineth round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on March 19, 2019 from 08:00 pm.

    Wanna break your wrists?
If you think, you have already driven on the bumpiest track, try Sonoma Raceway. This is a track where you can loose it all easily. It's indescribable bumpy - in braking areas, on straights and even in the fastest corners. Sonoma Raceway might be one of the great challenges of season 8 of SimRacing United's GT Pro Series.

A good qualifying position is mandatory here because overtaking is nearly impossible, especially with a top speed of 225 km/h. At least the drivers can trust in the weather, as the precipiation announce dry conditions throughout the whole event. The 3 main chanpionship contenders share the same fate. Alex Bräutigam, David Jundt and Kevin Jäger have to load the highest amount of additional ballast. This could be Alex's chance to keep his advantage in points against the other two Black Hawk Racing drivers.
But such a track does not allow to make any prediction regarding the race result. Everything can happen in Sonoma.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the tenth round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on April 02, 2019 from 08:00 pm.

The penultimate race of the season is the home race of most participants of SimRacing United's GT Pro Series. It takes place in the south of Germany, on the Norisring to be precise. The Norisring is located in the middle of Nürnberg and it should be well-known to all fans of DTM or former German championship DRM. It is a short and tight street circuit, only 2.3 kilometers long and mainly consisting of one main straight, 2 hairpins and a dangerous chicane.
We may expect a very, very close qualifying, lap times of less than 50 seconds and also a very close race. Overtaking is not easy, but a brave heart can help on the way to the first hairpin.

A short look into the driver's standings: Alex Bräutigam leads with 34 points on Kevin Jäger which means, if Alex can take 2nd place in the race, he'd be the champion for the 3rd time in a row.
But there might still be a lot of movement on positions 4 to 19 until the end of the season.

As always Sebastian Gerhart will guide you through the evening, from qualifying to victory lane.
So tune in for the eleventh round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on April 16, 2019 from 08:00 pm.

SimRacing United's GT Pro Series is looking forward to the last race of season 08 in Misano, Italy. It is held in the dark, but floodlight helps with the visibility.
The final round will decide the drivers championship. After his first DNF due to a blown engine on Norisring, Alex Bräutigam's gap decreased to 13 points against Kevin Jäger. David Jundt's chances to become champion are really small because that nearly requires both opponents not to finish. Alex's car is 60 kg lighter than Kevin's car what brings a huge advantage to Alex. But he probably will not celebrate to early.

But there are further fights for position. Positions 4 to 6 and 7 to 10 might switch by any overtaking maneuver in the race.
Finally: There might be a lot of action on the track as usually.

So tune in for the final round of the GT Pro series / season 8 on May 14, 2019 from about 08:00 pm.
