I've ever post about this strange behaviour, i can have extra FPS when i begin a course and go back to the menu and choose the option restart race. The gain => +5 fps (average). I have a bug from build 107, the gama/brightness are really dark, the unique way to improve it is to change anti-aliasing level in the video setup. After this action i have the correct gama.
That is interesting. It could be because the first time you enter a track, information is still being passed, while the second time, it is already done. Have you setup your screen using the utility built into the drivers you are using?
