Very nice job... good friendly finale for a discussion thats not going to end here Im sure. It takes some gold, or update news section from ISI to atleast take it to more fact based, less guessing kind of venue, but either way, totally worth it this whole thread.

ISI fails to communicate. You get a new build within a month or 6 weeks and then there is silence again. Apart from some offtopic blabla and statements telling us there is another vehicle licensed for a release 2023.
When I payed for the beta (lifetime version) they made me think it would last roughly 6 months (due to the fact that customers who purchased the regular version were given an additional 6 months of online access ...). Now almost a year is gone and at the current pace I'm guessing gold release will be sometime in late 2013 or in 2014. I feel kind of mislead, but for the most part because there is hardly any communication or statements regarding the development process going on here. In comparison to the open / closed betas I joined this is by far the worst experience for me.

That's fine if you have doubts but I don't think there's a problem with asking again.

It seems that despite there being a lot of to and fro banter between us we all believe and wish for the same thing.

So in conclusion it doesn't hurt to ask (even if it is a hundred+ times), they may change their stance who knows. But if you say nothing then I can guarantee nothing will change. Better to ask and try rather not ask at all.

And as you'll see from my posts, I'm not asking that much really - essentially just the steps that will be taken in the future. I understand software development through my own experiences and understand timeframes can be a big ?? but there always has to be a defined path leading to the final output.

 

I have lost count of the amount of times this subject of communication has come up, what you are asking for is more than they are prepared to give, it may be small to you, but to ISI it seems to be a step they will not make. Predefined path? the path may be defined but the timescale is not. The next update was held back because two thing destined to be in it (car and track) did something unexpected when they came together...this cannot be planned for and is part of why ISI don't give timescales. They seem to fear the backlash from missed deadlines more than the eternal pleading for more information.

On saying that I do seem to detect slightly more info coming out. Tims nuggets seem to be a little less cryptic, after all we know there is an update due soon, we are fairly sure there will be a new car and track with it.

Before anyone comes on with the "We want core upgrades before cars and tracks" it is different teams and stuff gets out as the relevant team makes it ready.

I'm not defending ISI just saying what I see
