For the last month I have been trying to figure out whats wrong with my pc.

In a game it shut down and afterwards it started with BSOD memory managment error.
I have tried everything.

  • tried an extra ssd with a clean win10 install
  • tested ram with memtest (passed)
  • replaced mobo
  • replaced ram
  • tested gpu and a linux script suggested it had faulty vram chip #7.
  • replaced gpu to a 9070xt
I have spend almost 900 euro now and im only left to replace cpu and/or PSU(850w)

But can it be a cpu problem?

I tried my old 6800xt on an old mobo and it seems to work so thats probably sellable, hopefully.

Bummer, so this problem has developed over time but you can't pinpoint when.

I would try sticking with original hardware except remove all hard drives.

Pull all HDD, Steam included.
Pull CPU memory and GPU
clean motherboard with compressed air to blow out slots properly.
Reseat CPU GPU RAM
Download a fresh W11 not suggesting you swap to W11 but just to try
( many be some bug between the OS and updates / apps )
Use another SDD fresh formatted
Install fresh steam on partition big enough to hold a game it crashes with.
Don't add any sim apps/ tools or software you don't need to test game.

If you spent a month then I don't think this is over the top.

I assume you've checked the temperatures and, if you have any, the dust on the radiators, right?

Edit: Or fans filters and disipators...

@8Ball
the pc have shutdown a few times, but this time it fails to boot up again.

Tried with a new mobo, new ram, new GPU, another fresh sdd with a clean win10 and it still does it...
repasted cpu too.

it can only be cpu or psu, just bought a new cpu tonight, will test tomorrow.

The pc cant even boot into windows login screen.
But I could boot into a linux cli test tool.

I'll end up with 2 PC's when I'm done...

it was the cpu... thats a first, never tried to "half"burn a cpu before in my 30 years as a computer geek... well finally up and running, now with 64gb ram, 9070XT and a 5700X3D cpu...hadnt seen that upgrade comming a month ago...
