You can get 3dsmax for £250 a year. For from needing to be a trillionaire.

The only thing that keeps me with RF2 vs. AC is the single file AI in AC. RF2 AI can be fun to race against.

Blender 3.6 is the last LTS supported until June 2025. I don't think is that bad. Supporting LTS is a good strategy if they don't have the time to update to every new version.

There are lots of great thoughts in here on subject.
For me has always come back to simple things.
It is not online or mods or content or physics drive the masses.
It's Eye Candy, you just need to look at those consoles sims sales to know that.
No offence I have brought Forza myself.

Don't know what that's supposed to indicate ?
Many many more people brought pCars then rF2.
These charts are useless as they only track online users, there is probably 10 times that driving offline as why do you need to be online for such a old sim that has no workshop or updates ? ;)

So Assetto Corsa probably has 10 times more players for the same reason.
You don't need to be online, but few people will put Steam offline to change games, it's ridiculous.

And because you can get/buy some cool Innovating mods that can hype you to play AC, at least for awhile. Which Is what I am going to do today :)

Does that mean I wont keep playing rF2, or LMU? No, It just means that variety Is always welcomed!

like Rfactor1 AC has a track building editor available(racetrackbuilder) this gave a push to make more mods like in rf1 happened with bobtrackbuilder where you could make a track with just a few clicks

Like I said I have no idea what you trying to accomplish with that pCars chart.

I still stand by my statement whether anyone agrees or not ( well at least 1 person did ) lol

The masses meaning the huge majority of users.
Argue otherwise if you like , I simply not interested in debating the topic 12 years after the fact.

P.S. Go back to Page 1 Post #3
I gave my reasoning on the actual topic ;)

Why is AC more popular than rF2 in terms of modding?
Because it's easy. If I don't like the way a car sounds I can change it. If I don't like the way the gearbox shifts I can change it. All without packing this and packing that into a mas file and updating this and or that. AC is the most forgiving platform for "tweaking" things without jumping thru hoops. rFactor 1 was easy to change things. AMS1 is kinda easy to change things to suit my desires for what I want. rF2 is a pain. You all know what I mean. Props and recognition to people that understand the rF2 "thing" because I certainly don't.

rF2 packaging was developed to specifically prevent cheating. Those "easy to do things" are still easy to do by working in Dev Mode. But people forget all that and then question whether people are cheating in AC, AMS1, rF1, etc.

if S396/MSG intend to keep rf2 going (thats a big if) they need to learn from AC. I for one am super interested to see what AC2 brings to the table.

Yeah, I know all that but I don't race online. I am offline with AI so I like to tweak things. It's fun.

That definitely makes sense, AC like rF1 is wholly like a sandbox making it easy to change things.

I would say this thread is more regarding actual modding groups releasing content, so a bit of a different situation.
